I decided to do a "Blind Buy" for this T.V. series after reading the highly positive reviews it has here on

I had never even heard of this show before finding it here on Amazon, and my Blind purchase was a total Pay-Off!

I have always enjoyed the quirky wit and famous "One Liners" of Bruce Campbell, and boy does he deliver them in this hillarious short lived T.V. series. The show is set at the turn of the 19th century on the fictional French-controlled island of Pulau-Pulau.

Jack Stiles (Bruce Campbell) plays an American secret agent sent there by President Thomas Jefferson. While there, he meets his British contact and love interest, English spy Emilia Rothschild. Together, the two work to stop Napoleon and various other threats to the United States. When trouble shows up Jack Stiles quickly transforms into the "Daring Dragoon who is a mix between one of the 3 muskateers and sherlock holmes.

The sets are well done, and story lines keep you glued to the screen and the actors are brilliant. Vern Troyer (mini-me) from the Austin Powers films plays a madly insane version of Napoleon Bonaparte that will have you rolling on the floor with laughter.

If you have never heard of this show, but are thinking of giving it a will not be sorry.

I loved it from the first episode. You can't help but smile all the way through the series; really fun to watch.
My only problem was that it was canceled before it was given a real chance to make it "big". But you get a good taste of it in this series and it does leave you for wanting more. A real Bruce Campbell Fan show; if you love Bruce, you will love this.

Jack of all Trades is an excellent, hilarious, action packed thrill ride. Every episode was great and full originality. Bruce Campbell as Jack Stiles aka The daring Dragoon, Angela Marie Dotchin as Mrs. Emilia Smythe Rothschild. Stuart Devenie as Governor Croque. Stephen Papps as Captain Brogard and Special apperance bt Verne Troyer as Napoleon Bonaparte. Everybody played a crucial role to the series but Bruce Campbell shined with all his one liners and chesse factor. Bruce campbell is awesome in everything he does, its just the scripts he is given and the budget that take him down a notch with big time studios and up tight critics that dissect every little detail. It is just entertainment, here for your enjoyment. Nothing more nothing less. But iam going of the topic. Jack of all Trades mixes history with fantasy, Slapstick wit sexual innuendo's, Attraction and restraint, Partnership and love and Great chemistry between the entire cast. Historical figures pop up now and then, which makes it entertaining but not historical accurate. The entire series is 22 episodes and should of never been canceled. The show had so much potential and dedicated actors that love the craft of true artistry. Jack Stiles (American spy/hero) and Emilia Smythe (British spy/inventor) are terrific and have amazing chemistry together. I don't want to give anything away but there is a love connection. But they were just undercover spies working together on the tiny South Pacific island of Polau Polau to stop the advances of the French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte and stop his reign of terror and supremacy. Every episode had a different perdicument and problem that Jack Stiles and Emilia Rothschild must face to prevent the ruling of the french army. The show is often silly and groovy but the premise is fun and it is a comedy. there is plently of swordplay, pirates, adventures, sexual enconters, ships, mystical places, tropical beaches. hot and sultry women, crazy polticians, stuff cows (Mr. Nipples), blackbeard, an episode with S and M and Bruce Campbell. What more could you want. I rate the show 9 out 10 and HIGHLY recommend to any Bruce Campbell fan. I just wish he would of said "give me some sugar baby" to Emilia and prociamed his love towards her. It was obvious there was attraction between the both of them. But sadily the show was canceled and never got to that point. It is a shame but I recommend buying it and relive the hilarity of JACK OF ALL TRADES.

By way of full disclosure I am a Bruce Campbell fan and LOVED Brisco County Jr. Jack of All Trades isn't up to the same calibre as Brisco and lacks the witty banter, quips and word play that made Briscoe so much fun to watch, and Jack Of All Trades, goes too far over the line sometimes and ventures in to Coyote/Road Runner territory. However, it is good, mindless, frothy fun and the Napolean jokes are amusing!!! Enjoyable to watch, but a bit like snacking on Cotton Candy, a good, decadent, indulgence at the time, but it doesn't really stay with you once you have consumed it.

Bruce Campbell is somewhat underrated as an actor. This short lived series holds up extremely well to today's television production standards. It's a cleverly written series ... Too bad it didn't run longer. However be prepared. This is an adult show. Some of the sexual innuendo from time to time is a bit shocking even by today's standards. Great series and excellent quality. Perhaps the show was ahead of its time.

I absolutely love Jack of all Trades. Possibly the best theme song ever written!

My rating reflects the content.

However, I have never seen a DVD conversion done so poorly. It's obvious they only had enough money to actually make them, but no effort was made to bring it up to DVD quality. SFX was pixely, sound was only 2.0. Rather jarring after years of HD everything. :)

But still - Jack. Is. Awesome!

Bruce Campbell at his best. He's so funny and the female complements his actions and jokes perfectly. It is a great little series with funny stories about spying, the French Revolution, and hilarity is abound!

There are very few things that Bruce Campbell does that I do not enjoy. Fantastically Shlocky and over the top as his best work is. Very sad there is only one season. Great fun to watch.

Howdee ho,
Bruce Campbell has such a humour that is both corny and witty at the same time. Very amusing. Not the best plot line or sesries but well worth watching.

Love this series. Too funny. And that opening title sequence is the best.
