4.0 out of 5 stars Helped to treat my tennis elbow, Nov 19 2012

This review is from: BandIT Arm Band (Apparel)
I'd been suffering from tennis elbow that was flaring up and down for a few months. Purchased this brace after my doctor told me to get something. The physiotherapists near me charge upwards of $70 for the same product, so this feels like a steal by comparison.

I wore the brace full-time for a few weeks and the pain went away. I was able to wear the brace while lifting weights and playing ice hockey without too much trouble. The band does tend to slide a little if you sweat, so may not be ideal for really active sports that don't have equipment to hold it in place.

I still get the occasional flare up and wearing the band for an hour or two seems to help deal with that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Tennis Elbow, Nov 13 2012
This review is from: BandIT Arm Band (Apparel)
Looking for some good treatments for tennis elbow, I came across the book Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow. In it, the book recommends using one of these forearm bands, also known as counterforce braces. Apparently they don't know exactly how these things help decrease tennis elbow pain, but they work. The current theory is that tennis elbow is a problem with the tendon of one of your forearm muscles. Putting this brace near the tendon of the problem muscle takes pressure off the tendon, giving it a chance to heal. Some of the studies quoted in the book also show these braces can increase your arm strength as well as decrease pain- so there's a lot of benefit to be gained by using one.

Now the first problem you might imagine you'd have is one of comfort. These things have to be on snug to take pressure off the forearm tendon or they're useless. Of course more pressure usually means LESS comfort. That's where this little baby comes in- its designed to get around the issues of cutting off your circulation. Now it is made of two pieces of plastic, so its a little more rigid than the soft braces, but its padded with foam and the plastic does give- so it ends up being both firm and comfortable.

The way I see it, forearm bands can't help you if you're not able to wear them. So if you've tried other bands, give this one a shot- it's a little different than the others and well worth a try. I'd also urge sufferers to do a few of the specialized exercises in the book to prevent recurrences or for those who find they simply can't stand wearing the brace.

I have elbow injury from incorrect golfing swing and my brother introduce me to this product which I found very good.

It does not affect blood flow like other products and not causing excess heat in hot weather because of the way it design and material used. My brother has tried few different similar products and found this one is the most comfortable and effective elbow brace for elbow injury (like tennis/golf elbow).

The price and free shipping from Amazon just great deal.

Strongly recommend.
