Canadians Do It Right!
If you're an On The Buses fan and a true completist, this is the set to have. As of late, the British have been releasing this classic series one season at a time on the Newtwork DVD label. Trouble is that seasons 2 and 3 have been cut. The bumper cards that announce the end of part one and the beginning of part two are missing from the episodes. I was quite annoyed...

Complete
While they *may* have been able to transfer the graphics somewhat better (although older footage). It is wonderful to have "On The Buses" from beginning to end on dvd to enjoy at any time.

If you're an On The Buses fan and a true completist, this is the set to have. As of late, the British have been releasing this classic series one season at a time on the Newtwork DVD label. Trouble is that seasons 2 and 3 have been cut. The bumper cards that announce the end of part one and the beginning of part two are missing from the episodes. I was quite annoyed when I went through the trouble of having these region 2 discs imported from across the pond. But thank goodness, the Canadians have come to the rescue with a complete set from Visual Entertainment. Not only are the bumpers in tact, here you have all seven complete seasons of this classic series. Don't be alarmed that some of the episodes are in black and white....they were filmed and aired that way. Sorry, there are no extras here, but there is a fantastic rendition of the theme on the opening menu. I would strongly advise for those that live overseas that they buy a region free player and promptly order this set!

Great to have all the episodes available. I am a big fan of the films, but never really saw the tv shows. Well I was born in 1974!
Good to hear all those British phrases again, and being an ex-London Bus Driver it brings back memories. Thanks to the other reviewer for pointing out that the end of episode 4, season 1 has a problem. It jumps and then sticks when Stan gets into the cab with the rubber ring! Although it sometimes sticks in a slightly different frame. Its a shame but at least it saves trying to send the disc back.
My canadian wife loves the shows too! I recommend the feature films as well. When are they being released on NTSC?
A great laugh from Britain before it became too politically correct!
Now get that bus out!!

Fantastic Complete Series At Good Price for the Content but..., Janv. 11 2007
I would have to concur with the review of my fellow BUSES fans. I have waited for a complete series issue of ON THE BUSES to appear for retail sale on Laserdisc or DVD for almost a decade now. This was an excellent Brit-com, but once Global TV stopped showing it many many years ago we all were stuck. Myself watching the few episodes I managed to record onto Beta video cassettes during late night viewings.
The compilation is excellent....no extras or "where are they now" featurettes of any kind here. You get all the episodes and that's it. I would imagine this is why the price is kept under $100.00....that and the disclaimer about technical glitches in the source material (this refers to the film lines, minor video warbles or ticks and pops in the soundtrack.
HOWEVER, the video glitch with Episode 4 on Disc 1 of the set is NOT related to the source material...this is a DVD MASTERING or disc Manufacturing error on the part of the set's manufacturer and should not be considered normal. I too ordered a replacement boxed set from Amazon (which was delivered PROMPTLY, almost faster than going to a physical store...VERY impressed Amazon.ca!!). I thought that this was a result of a scratch or other disc defect but the replacement had the same problem at the same spot.
I contacted the Canadian Manufacturer of this set in Etobicoke via their website...however they have refused to get back to me...It's hardly fair to punish Amazon for a product they didn't produce, and it's HIGHLY unlikely that another manufacturer is going to ever produce a set like this in the future, so we're all kind of stuck.
However, I would encourage those who have purchased this set to contact the producer through their website and complain...perhaps if enough consumers complain they might do a re-pressing of this first DVD of the set as Lion's Gate did recently for a glitch in their Dead Zone boxed set for Season Three...
But this comedy is classic and a must have for brit-com fans...this is raw, sexist, unpolitically correct, rauchy British humour at it's best. Fans won't be disappointed...(except with Disc One!)

Great shows: brought back a lot of memeories, as I used to watch them as a child. Amazon service was great. Quick delivery as promised.

A long time coming!, Sep 30 2006
When I was really REALLY young, my older brother got me hooked this series. Every sunday, he would tape an episode on PBS and watch it over and over, thus teaching me about dry british humor. I never forgot that, and FINALLY after many MANY years of waiting, the complete set has come out! This will bring up lots of fond memories for us when he gets it for X-mas!

Timeless classic, a must have for fans of the greatest Britcoms...Only downfall is episode four of season one goes wonky in the last 5 mins but there is a disclaimer at the start of every disk...I ordered it again to be sure, but it's on the second set too. Still worth every penny, and laughs galore!
