5.0 out of 5 stars Medium size outdoor antenna, Aug 14 2012

This review is from: Channel Master CM 4221 HD 4-bay HDTV/UHF TV Antenna CM4221 (Electronics)
I have purchased a number of indoor and outdoor TV antennas over the years.
This one is my favourite for its flexability and good performance.
Its easy to do the final assembly and it does not take up too much space
but it is not small so dont expect it to blend in if used indoors.
Outside its easy to miss and its a install and forget antenna.
I used it with a CM7777 preamp outside and with a $25 CM preamp inside.
Not too expensive and easy to live with and 12 miles from the tower and with
obstructions to challenge any antenna.

I bought this low-cost antenna on the recommendation of infos found on digitalhome.ca in their OTA subforum. It shows how to modify it in order to improve the reception, I did it their way, to realize that it is a fragile thing. * Yet it delivers *. I completed it with a CM-7777 booster.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gets the basic channels, Oct 25 2011
This review is from: Channel Master CM 4221 HD 4-bay HDTV/UHF TV Antenna CM4221 (Electronics)
I've been using my new Channel Master CM 4221HD 4-BAY HDTV UHF ANTENNA (CM4221) now for a couple of weeks and I'm fairly satisfied with it. I live in a rural part of Ontario about 50km away from the nearest city (Ottawa) and my house is surrounded by cedar trees which I've been told are notorious for blocking any kind of air signal. Before using my new antenna I had only been able to get one English channel on my tv (CTV) using rabbit ears. Now I get four main English channels (CTV, CBC, Global & TVO). It's much better than having only the one channel but I admit that I was disappointed that I didn't get more channels. Prior to the digital switch when I lived in another rural location I was able to pick up CityTV, the A-Channel and PBS so I thought I might get those channels with my new antenna, which I don't. My antenna sits atop my bungalow on a 5 foot tripod so it's about 20 feet in the air. Perhaps it would perform better if it were higher or there were less cedar trees around. In any case, I'm still glad I have 3 more channels now. Also, set-up and installation were very simple, it took no time at all. If you're in a similar situation location-wise I would recommend upgrading to an 8-bay antenna to maximize the number of channels but this antenna was still very good value for the amount I bought it for.
