I selected this model this this because of the favourable reviews here. I have made about 15 loaves so far as well as dough for making baguettes using the recipe on the Zojirushi site. The only failure to rise properly was when I made a whole wheat loaf using flour that had been in the cupboard for a couple of years. With a new bag of flour (Robin Hood Whole Wheat Bread Flour)every whole wheat loaf comes out nicely, with the same rise as white loaves. We are using Fleischmann's bread maker yeast powder. Our machine bread has a heavier texture than most store bread, so we eat fewer slices and we have ample bread for the two of us with the 1 lb loaf. I find that the machine is not quite as fussy about proportions as the manual implies - small adjustments in the ingredients do not seem to cause any problems. I also substitute olive oil for butter. Most of my loaves seem to rise right to the top of the lid if I go by the book, leaving a small circle under the window with almost no crust. I usually scale back the ingredients a bit so that the bread doesn't rise out of the pan too much. When I cut the bread, I place it on its side and slice it sideways, to get a smaller slice, starting from the bottom. That first crunchy slice removes most of the paddle indentation as well, and I usually eat it warm with butter! When cut this way the slices fit the toaster better later on. While there are no preservatives in my bread, it seems to stay good for a few days and I have never had a loaf develop mould before we finished it, unlike the store bread we used to buy. The pan in my machine does not lock in tightly as the manual implies, but it does not seem to cause any problems - I assume the paddle direction tends the to push the pan against the stops and keep it down. The customer service person at Zojirushi said this was normal. I have burned a finger once or twice in turning the bread out to cool because the pan is smooth and a bit slippery and the handle is always in the way of the bread coming out - it has to spring out so that you can grab it remove the pan from the machine. I am looking for a pair of insulated gloves with silicon pads to get a better grip and hold the handle aside. I do like to start eating the bread as soon as it is made. I wish this machine had an automatic fruit/nut dispenser so that I could use the timer to make e.g. raisin bread overnight. But overall I am very satisfied with this machine.

I love my Zo Mini,
This review is from: Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Home Bakery Mini Breadmaker (Kitchen)
I decided to get the Zo mini because I`m only baking for 2 people. It comes with an easy-to-use instruction manual with a few different recipes. The Walnut bread is a must-try.The instruction manual is also very helpful with tips on how to make a loaf successfully. It`s very handy... make sure you don`t lose it. I`m really happy with this purchase... so is my DH and our family and friends! If you`re looking for a bread maker but don`t want huge loaves of bread, the Zo mini is great! The final loaf is 1 lb and there are a ton of recipes on the internet.

Quite operation, makes 1/2 of your usual store-bought loaf, so consider daily breadmaking if you need more than that, or you need the bigger machine if you have a family that consumes more than that. On the upside you will always have fresh bread. Home-made bread will not last more than two days anyway before starting to get stale.I am still experimenting with it, however so far I would like the crust to be thinner than I have been able to set it to (soft bread). Timer function is very useful - you can set it upto 13 hours ahead (with the timer working to mean when your bread will be ready, and not when the machine will be turned on), so that when you wake up in the morning, your bread will be ready. The machine will keep your bread warm upto 60 minutes after baking, then turn off, which is good if you happen to be out. The machine is quite, meaning it will not disturb you even if you use it in your living room. Given that you can make bread at home, why would you want to buy store made one? It would take a year to pay it off but at least you don't need to go out to buy bread, and you are assured it is clean, and you can control exactly what is in it.

Obsolutely love it!We are a small family of 3, our 4 years old loves bread. It's perfect size for us, we can have fresh made bread in the morning when wake up(it's very nice to be woke up by the smell). Compared to make with oven, it takes much less time and effort, and makes good bread. We've never had a bad loaf yet(made about 10-15).

Ever since we received the Zoji, I haven't bought a loaf of bread! I make our own. It is as easy as the video and manual say it is and because you choose the ingredients you will become the baker you never thought you'd be. The machine lives up to Zojirushi's reputation of making fine, dependable, quiet machines that do what they're supposed to. EZ2N-Joy!

Good for a small family,
This review is from: Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Home Bakery Mini Breadmaker (Kitchen)
We're very pleased with the breadmaker. The big decision for us was whether to get this size or a bigger one. Right now we are two adults and a two-year-old. One small loaf is more than enough for us for the week, and it's easy to make more if need requires it. We like being able to control the ingredients (we are using light spelt flour and it works very well in place of all-purpose white flour for the basic bread recipe) and there is definitely a cost savings over time. Having the regular occurrence of fresh bread in the home makes life better on many levels. We are a busy, conscious, professional family living in a condo and this suits us.

I was really pleased to have found this 1 lb. bread machine, this machine is very solid and quiet, my disappointment is that it only has one gluten free recipe in the book which is rice Bread ,I would have liked to have known about the lack of this before my purchase. There are many nice looking other recipes but not gluten free as I had thought before purchasing. So far have not had any luck with the rice bread at all . I called the help line and spoke to a gentleman about the problem, he suggested weighing the flour, but could not help in the weight measurements for the rice flour.

we used it a lot for we like to eat flour product. I like the multi-function(pasta dour for cookies and noodle, pizza dour for pizza of course and steam bun or other buns). The most of course is for bread making. This one is much better than the cheaper one I used before, I mainly used all-purpose flour, the bread still tastes very good. We now use it at least once a day. So it is well worth the investment.

Love Love Love!,
This review is from: Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Home Bakery Mini Breadmaker (Kitchen)
Every loaf that I have made with this bread maker has turned out perfectly!! The recipes it comes with are delicious, and when I brought a loaf of french bread to my Mom's she thought that it was bakery bread. You really can't go wrong, and the size of the loaf is perfect for my husband and I. It's so nice to have fresh bread all the time. The only caution is because of the 1 pound size a lot of bread cookbooks to not have recipes for a 1 pound loaf. I bought the "The bread machines bread lover cookbook" and was disappointed, but "The Bread machine cookbook" by Donna German breaks the recipes down into 1 pound loaves and has awesome recipes!Enjoy

We are really glad we picked this breadmaker. We had a Paderno make which was extremely noisy and took up a great deal of counter space. This breadmaker is very quiet and does not take up a lot of counter space. The handle makes it very easy to move around. The instructions are clear and the dials and buttons are very easy to use. It is easy to clean, ready for the next loaf. So glad we did not buy one of the other manufacturers cheaper models. The recipe book is very good, and we have been making fresh bread ever since we got it. It makes a perfect loaf every time we use it. We have been making whole grain bread, but soon we will start experimenting. The one pound loafs are perfect for two people. |
