An Enjoyable Evening Film to View,
By
This review is from: Though None Go With Me - DVD (DVD)
A grandmother speaks to her granddaughter about the choices she made in her own life, including disappointments with happy times, in order to provide a balanced perspective for her grand-daughter's decisions. The different actresses portraying the life story of the grandmother are visually dissimilar, but overlooking that, the film makes a good point about making worthwhile decisions, even when based on incomplete information and, at the end, reaping a worthwhile life. The story line was not too preachy or heavy handed and realistic human responses are portrayed throughout.

We saw "Though none go wit me" with our 2 kids, less than 10 years of age. They were both listening very intently and stayed awake throughout the whole movie. Afterwards, they both commented on how amazing this movie was. I agree; this is a movie that really tests your faith and shows that God is always watching over us and in control of our lives. I highly recommend this Christian movie as one that's a keepsake.

Really well done, decent acting, beautiful story line, builds your faith for sure, have a kleenex box nearby. Good girly movie. A story by example, not too preachy, truly about faith. Highly recommend it!

A very positive message about staying true to a promise and the results that come out of it even through many situations that would result in many choosing to give up.

Novel vs. Movie,

This review is from: Though None Go With Me - DVD (DVD)
I read the book. I watched the movie. The book had me in tears. The movie had me in tears. It was all just so sad. It was so sad it was depressing. I found the book to be a little too on the religious side. Too deep. The movie didn't even name the son was Bruce. The house wasn't anything like I had expected from the novel to the movie. So the novel and movie were different in too many ways. Why didn't Cheryl Ladd have blond hair? At that time she wasn't that old however they had her looking good but old. Poor Will in the movie looked really old. People don't change that drastically. So I was disappointed in the movie.
