Don't get me wrong, I love the A-Team. But season five was to the A-Team what AfterMASH was to MASH and The Golden Palace was to the Golden Girls. It was familiar faces thrown together with spotlight hogging new leads that fans of the original cast couldn't stand, in situations that were straining and failing to be both appealing to a new audience and familiar to the old...

Don't get me wrong, I love the A-Team. But season five was to the A-Team what AfterMASH was to MASH and The Golden Palace was to the Golden Girls. It was familiar faces thrown together with spotlight hogging new leads that fans of the original cast couldn't stand, in situations that were straining and failing to be both appealing to a new audience and familiar to the old one. Was is really anyone surprise when it flopped as hard as it did?
When I first saw this on TV, the first two and a half episodes and Murdock's part in them blew me away. It was a perfect set-up for one hell of a last season, clearing their names in proper A-Team style (i.e. explosions and machine guns). Instead... I have no words how how terrible a set-up that last half an episode turned out to be. I'd been so used to one episode characters that the punch in the face when I realized the terminally annoying Frankie would be staying nearly put me off the show for good. If only I hadn't been stubborn enough to keep watching in case the season got better.
Personally, I've already bought the first four seasons. I refuse to admit this one is even canon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have done without Frankie Santana!! "Peou", Aug 2 2006
This review is from: A-Team: The Fifth & Final Season (DVD)
Why was this "New Joysey" moron on the last season of the "A" team, I don't think they needed him and all he did was stink the place up. Every episode he was either an expert on any subject or god's gift to women, and basically he was just annoying!!
