My husband and I are long-haul truck drivers that go to the Canadian territories. When one of us is driving the other is sleeping in the truck bunk. The Canadian territories have some of the roughest and bumpiest roads in North America which can make sleeping in the semi quite difficult. We have tried many beds in a desperate attempt to get a sound rest and eliminate sore bodies upon waking. Many of them come with manual pumps that require D cell batteries (hard to get in some places when these batteries die), are single layered beds (which do not absorb much impact and shift terribly out of their place), take quite some time to fill or don't hold their air (a hassle when you are very tired). This bed exceeds our demanding requirements. The built in pump saves us time finding the pump, money for batteries and bumps on the head when we are trying to fill a sagging bed while the other person is driving. My husband likes the bed a bit firmer and I prefer it a bit softer so it is quite easy for us to drain and pump-in air at regular switch intervals. The double layers with a separate type of construction in each really adds cushion for absorption of vibrations and impact. The extra volume also puts the colder surface we lay the bed upon farther away from us when we are sleeping. If this bed can do all these things for us, imagine what it can do for a house guest! Excellent value for the price, don't doubt a purchase of this bed.

While the bed itself is very nice and the inflation procedure went well, deflating is not quite as easy. Even when deflated - finally - the bed doesn't fit very well in the bag provided.

A friend recommended this item to me, and it so beats a thin blow up mattress. It is prmarily for home use as you need an electric outlet to blow it up and deflate it, but it only takes a brief time to do both. Yes, it does not fold back into the bag provided, but still a winner for me and my company.
