This review is from: Slade Anthology (4CD) (Audio CD)
If you're looking for only a single Slade puchase to update your vinyl collection or if you have even a passing interest in the group, this is the one you need! This anthology covers almost all of the highlights of Slade's career and includes numerous B-sides and a few rarities. Many of the tracks on this release can also be found on the new releases of the original LPs, but why purchase those again to get those few tracks when you can get them all with the anthology? It's great to hear so many tracks that essentially were unavailable after about 1974 or 75 (the time of Sladest or Old, New, Borrowed and Blue) when Slade was no longer a going concern in North America
This is one of the better purchases I've made in some time and if you like Slade even a little, this is one you need.

This review is from: Slade Anthology (4CD) (Audio CD)
Slade is one of those bands you always hear about but most people (in North America) only know versions of their songs by other band's. For example i was intro. to their music via Quite Riot doing Cum On Feel The Noise. I picked up one of their 80's albums when i was in high school but really did not know much else. When i saw this box set listed i figured i would give it a shot. I am glade i did because what a great band. The first CD alone would make most bands proud. If you like Glam Rock then check this out (In case you don't know the term Glam Bowie, T. Rex, Roxy Music, Mott The Hoople, Alice Copper are all glam or have at least gone thru a glam period). This box set also has really good liner notes and lists all their LP's and Singles including B-sides. Great Purchase! I think i will be going back for more.
