If you love Alyssa Milano then you will love her in this movie. If you don't like her then you will hate it. Milano is absolutely stunning and does very well from innocnet Lily to seductress Lily. The collection was very fascinating in their portrayal of 3 lost young women. I was not surprised to see all 3 use their sexual talents to try and find the personality they were seeking. My favourite was the original with Drew Barrymore and it was based on what I felt was a great performance by the actress. I am not sure all will be intrigued by these movies because the sexuality plays a major role, but if you can overlook the sexual content and delve into the personal development of the character "Ivy", I think you will find these to be entertaining and thought provoking as to how young girls can struggle with finding the person they are.

3.0 out of 5 stars For Alyssa Fans Only, Aug 21 2001
This review is from: Poison Ivy 2: Lily (VHS Tape)
If you love Alyssa Milano then you will love her in this movie. If you don't like her then you will hate it. Milano is absolutely stunning and does very well from innocnet Lily to seductress Lily. Unfortunatly the script is awful and the movie drags on and on.Alyssa doesn't even get the pleasure of working with talented actors which could have made the movie better.Xander Berkely is awful and unappealing as the art teacher and I cringed whenever he was in a scene. Jonathan Scheach did what he could in a role that had no substance whatsoever. This film is shot beautifully and the director does everything she can to make Alyssa look beautiful in every shot. As I said if your an Alyssa fan get this movie, if your a fan of Poison Ivy with Drew Barrymore, just watch that one again.

wow.i was disappointed in the first Poison Ivy movie, but compared to this movie,it is a masterpiece.this is one long, slow, tedious movie.the plot of the movie(if you can call it that,is incoherent.i would say it was ant climatic, but there is no climax, and without that, you can't have an anti climatic movie.to me,this movie is basically a soft core porn.i watched the whole movie hoping for some good to come out of it.no such luck.there are a few minutes of action, but not enough to redeem this movie.plus,i thought the dialogue was cringe worthy.i think the movie was just an excuse for people to get naked.anyway,i didn't like it at all.for me Poison Ivy II is a 1/5

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what it should be, Dec 27 2003

If you've seen the original Poison Ivy, then you kindof know what you should expect to see when watching the 2nd. And if you liked the original, you will be severely disappointed by this sequel.
After having watched the original Poison Ivy, I looked forward to this one. Unfortunately, this is one of those sequels that had a lot going for it until the creators ruin it.
What the movie is *supposed* to be about is a "good girl" (Milano) just starting college in a new place and doesn't know anyone, so she tries to fit in by making changes to herself and her personality. She finds old diaries of the original "Ivy" and learns Ivy's art of seduction from them and slowly, but surely becomes her own version of what Ivy was.
Ok, that sounds to me like the premise for a great sequel...but the creators of the movie ruined it by:
1. Not enough emphasis on our "new Ivy"'s mental change and growing obsession with her new ways.
2. Because of what I mentioned above in #1, our new Ivy (Milano) isn't very creepy at all. The change from her good girl image to that of Ivy is shallow, at best. There is no obsession, no reminder of the drive behind her character.
3. Because of #2, our new Ivy is not in control of the story. Her pervert teacher is. In fact, she is even treated as a victim in the end. What?! Where's the seduction? Where's the loss of control?
4. Given what the movie is supposed to be about, the ending definitely leaves a lot to be desired. So she realizes the "error of her ways" (and since there was never really any emphasis on exactly what her "error" was, that statement is a misnomer) and hooks up with her boyfriend. Big deal. No thrills, no suspense.
It would've been better if they had not made this movie in the first place, but since they gave it a shot...2 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars an erotic thriller, but not erotic! ......or thrilling, Oct 21 2003
Okay, so I didn't understand this movie at all. It's suppose to be about a young woman named Lily, who moves to a big college but just doesn't fit in (although, she has female friends and a bunch of guys are clamoring to date her, so I'm not exactly sure how they define "fit in" in this movie). Then, she finds Ivy's old diary ("Ivy" as in "Poison Ivy", the evil seductress chick from the first movie) and starts reading it, and becomes seduced by it's promises of lust and power or whatever.

The thing that's ridiculous about this movie is, all the guys in it are already trying to seduce her long before she starts dressing slutty and declares herself a seductress. I'm serious. Her first "prey", a fellow college student who's a sculptor, tries to seduce her while she's still innocent but after they kiss, she runs away. Then she reads the diary, cuts her hair, puts on some slutty clothes, goes back and finds him and "seduces" him. Honestly, I don't think he even noticed any difference.

Then there's her art teacher. Now, the first Poison Ivy movie was about Drew Berrymore moving in with her friend and then seducing that friend's father and tearing the family apart, as evidenced by the picture on the front of the box of a family photograph being ripped in half. So on the box for Poison Ivy 2, they try to imply the same thing by showing a photograph of the art teacher along with his wife and daughter, and the photograph is being ripped in half. What's funny is, the very first scene in the movie is of the art teacher having sex with another one of his art students but then deciding she's no fun any more and he needs to find a new student to seduce. The art teacher's daughter, who's like five, only comes into play when he hires Lily to baby-sit, in a move to seduce her.

As for the sex scenes in this movie.... when you watch the unrated version of Poison Ivy: The New Seduction, the point seems to be to show Jamie Presley naked as much as humanly possible. When you watch the unrated version of THIS movie, the point seems to be to make the sex scenes as untitilating to watch as possible. After having seen Embrace of the Vampire, I expected Alyassa Milano to be dropping her towel and accidentally ripping open the front of her blouse as much as possible, but in actuality, in the very few scenes we DO see of her topless, she has her hands in the way of her bosoms almost the entire time. Now, I hope I don't come off as a pervert or anything, but honestly, if the movie's an "erotic thriller", then isn't it suppose to be erotic? Their are however several other scenes where we get to see random women who don't even have speaking parts in the film topless, like when Lily reads Ivy's diary and pictures Ivy, or when we see her art teacher's classroom (of course he teaches human form so there's always a different naked woman posing in his classroom), but these scenes are always so brief and random, it seems as if the only purpose they serve is to scare away people who DON'T like erotic movies.

So in closing, I can't really recommend this movie to anyone.... the plot wasn't good enough for people who want a movie with plot, it wasn't sexy enough for people who like to watch movies with sex in them.... heck, it didn't even have fun cheesy laughable dialog for people who like to laugh at cheesy movies. Of course, if you're like me and your video store rents old movies for fifty cents and you REALLY feel like renting it.... I guess it beats a hot skewer in the eye.

4.0 out of 5 stars about the movie Poison Ivy II, Aug 11 2003
the sex scene and story in this movie is much better than the first poison Ivy and the posion Ivy new seduction productions. What I can say about the three Poison Ivy is that the plot is different in each of them and for the part II, the diary belongs to lily's sister, Ivy but it looks like a coincidence that lily happens to grab her diary at a unknown private house....well it is a story anyway but you can treat it as if this diary belongs to someone else that she reads and later made herself looks 'seductive' that even the painterr himself(lecturer) could even get himself killed as he could not resist the temptation of her beauty when she appears around the last part of the story. A good collection and purchase for this particular movie. I rate the story as 4 stars and the sex scene as 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best out of the "Poison Ivy" series!!!, Aug 4 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Poison Ivy 2: Lily (VHS Tape)
This is one of my favorite movies!! The music is great and the
intimacy is so...great! Alyssa Milano plays an amazing part!
Especially during the...hm, hm... scenes. Plus I had
goosebumps when she found Ivy's diary and decided to find the
badness in her and learning that you shouldn't be afraid to take
chances. Even though, it all ended with Lily, or Alyssa, to
realize that Ivy was definetely NOT a good person. This movie
is one of the best seduction movies I had ever seen, not

including the third "Poison Ivy" movie. YOU'VE GOTTA SEE IT!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Alyssa, but rather boring movie, Feb 18 2003
By A Customer
This is a chick flick masquerading as an erotic thriller. A rather sappy love story is the center of the movie and there's very little suspense. The only reedeming feature is Alyssa Milano's performance as Lily. She's really good and I must admit her nude scenes are also very sexy.
The DVD contains no extras. It would have been interesting to have included interviews and behind the scenes.
All in all, a movie for Alyssa Milano fans only.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing movie!, Dec 27 2002
Forget the sex scenes, Alyssa Milano nude...forget it all. There's more to this movie than that. This is a story about a girl name Lily who never fit in, and she wants to be somebody else & belong. So with Ivy's words and influence from her diary, Lily becomes someone else entirely. The movie shows her blossom from the innocent outsider she was to the sexy, manipulative person she became. You can see her change perfectly on the screen. In the end, Lily's new behavior leads to obsession and maybe even death. The point is, I know alot of teens can relate to not fitting in & trying to change who you are. So what if this movie has sex, it's part of everyday life, and there's no reason it shouldn't be in a movie. It's not that big of a deal. Hey, watch the rated version if you want! This movie wasn't meant to be a serious movie, so if you are looking for a movie with a good plot that's like the movie Fear, rent this or buy it. You will be surprised. If all you do is sit down and watch movies studying every detail and scene, trying to find something wrong with it, this movie is not for you. It's just a great movie with a deep plot, and to me, nobody will take the time to realise that, because they think it's all about sex. It's not. Take a risk! You will be pleasantly surprised!
