4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
I have tried about eight different pregnancy workouts, and have found this to be the only one that feels like a real WORKOUT. So many of them are nice and relaxing and teach you about breathing, kegels, etc., but the exercises are incredibly easy. This one got my heart-rate up a bit, and left me sore the next day (in a good way). It's great for someone who already has an...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good workout, but...
This is a great prenatal cardio workout - it's easy to follow, gets your heart rate up, but is easy on your joints. Erin O'Brien also does a wonderful job of reminding you to breathe, drink water, and watch your RPE while working out.

However, the sound quality is awful. I appreciate that the video was filmed in what looks like to be someone's living room, but...

So many of them are nice and relaxing and teach you about breathing, kegels, etc., but the exercises are incredibly easy. This one got my heart-rate up a bit, and left me sore the next day (in a good way). It's great for someone who already has an established exercise routine. Erin O'Brien is a wee bit annoying, but what I like is that she's doing the workout in her own living room, using the couch, coffee table, and wall as props, and she works you hard. She combines a few aspects of pilates and yoga with her cardio and strength exercises and leaves you feeling like you did something good for your body.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pregnancy Cardio Done Right, Feb 27 2012
This review is from: Prenatal Fitness Fix (DVD)
After reading several reviews on this and many other videos, I purchased it. I was looking for a pregnancy workout video that would get my heart rate up and not bore me. This is the best fit I've found so far! Pros: Erin is motivating, the workout is a challenge, she gives modifiers for various stages and is upbeat. Cons: the sound isn't the greatest and you'll have to turn it up. She can tend to mumble, but as long as you're watching, you'll be fine. BONUS: the partner workout video is awesome. My husband and I did it together and had a great time. You might even get into a little post workout fun time! I would highly recommend this video for every stage in pregnancy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this work-out!, Feb 8 2012
This review is from: Prenatal Fitness Fix (DVD)
I started using this DVD when I was expecting my fifth baby, and I couldn't believe what a difference it made! I was a couch potato, really, and I was feeling tired, achy, and lethargic. This work out made me sore, initially, but after about a week I noticed I had a lot more energy, and my hip/back pain was going away, and I was sleeping much better. I ended up having my most comfortable pregnancy yet, as well as my easiest labor, and best post-partum recovery. This was my step into the "exercising world" and I don't ever want to go back to my couch potato self.
I like the fact that it's a real work out - I am expecting baby #6 now, and a lot more fit than I used to be, but this one still makes me sweat every time. I also like the fact that Erin is low-key, and not all bouncy and peppy and cheerleader-ish. She isn't wearing makeup, and her hair gets messy. It's my kind of atmosphere. She's encouraging without being annoying.
The thing I don't like is that sometimes the explanations go on a bit long, but the reminder is good, I guess, and I use that time to drink a little more water. I also don't like the sound quality during the floor exercises. If you don't know what's coming, you'll miss the switch in position, because you can't hear her very well.
Over all though, I love this DVD and the postnatal one that belongs with it. I've recommended it to many friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars She made me feel so much better! Great workout too!, May 31 2009
This review is from: Prenatal Fitness Fix (DVD)
Well in much need of a pick me up (pregnancy hormones are raging) and with some time on my hands today, I decided to get my butt moving and so popped in this video for the first time.

This was the absolute best workout video I have tried since Sharon Mann's workout series that I used for years pre-pregnancy.

For anyone who does videos or aerobic classes already and is pregnant, I recommend trying it.

A) She is very Sarah Jessica Parkerish and I find that charming and it made me smile.

B) It has good cardio in it, which is hard to find for prenatal stuff. And she doesn't use any equipment except your couch, chair and floor.

c) She has a good segment of squats which good to do in preparation for birth.

I found her advice and constant reminders helpful and not too annoying. I will be using this video alot for the rest of my pregnancy.

I bought this video and Leisa Hart's Fitmama at the same time. This one is far better if you had an established exercise regime before you became pregnant. It's a good workout! I would keep doing it even if I wasn't pregnant but couldn't go to the gym. You certainly feel like you are doing something with this video, whereas with Fitmama it seems like a warm up or cool down video. I strongly recommend you get it IF you were an avid exerciser before.

When I hit my third trimester it was hard sometimes then I only did 25 minutes of the 40 minute workout. The ground work portion gave me incredible heartburn so I usually stopped before that and went for a walk.

The partner exercise is ok to try once and I did get a great workout but I didn't feel it was necessary.

I am a kinesiologist and ex-national athlete, this is my fourth pregnancy. I was looking for a really good and fun video. This one fits the bill.
I have bought many videos and quite honestly can't stand some of the content and ways they motivate. Erin is different. Her approach was exactly what I have been looking for.

I am 30 weeks pregnant and before I was pregnant I exerciced 3-4 times a week. I was looking for a prenatal video to help me keep fit during the last strech of my pregnancy. I really enjoy this video. It gives a very good workout (considering I am 30 weeks pregnant!) and the instructions given by the instructors are easy to follow.

I loved this workout and looked forward to doing it almost every day! It was easy to follow and I didn't feel overwhelmed even though I was in moderate shape to begin with. It's the perfect amount of exercise to keep you feeling great. Erin has a great personality which really comes across and she provides great character and motivation. Also, she explains each exercise and why it is good for you and your baby. I highly recommend this dvd to anyone who is pregnant and wants to keep in shape. I'm even considering continuing to do it even though I'm not pregnant any more simply because it was such a great workout!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good workout!, Mar 24 2008
This review is from: Prenatal Fitness Fix (DVD)
I was looking for a pregnancy video that WASN"T yoga and that would actually be a bit of an all-around workout. This video seems to do the trick! There are a LOT of squats (have a feeling I'm going to be sore tomorrow.....), and there are a few exercises that I prefer to modify (I feel more comfortable using weights to work my triceps, rather than doing tricep dips), but overall, it was a nice workout. I got my heart-rate up, it was easy to follow and I feel like I'll actually get some muscle tone out of it. Pre-pregnancy, I was slim/average build and average fitness level. I would recommend this to anyone who was in decent shape before pregnancy...if you're not an exerciser at all, then it might be a little too much.

I am in my first trimester and have worked out prior to being pregnant. Wow, what a workout! I thought I was in pretty good shape.
Though this seems to have been filmed at her home, the quality was quite good and it really added to the relaxed feel - Almost like a one on one with your very own personal trainer. As the DVD progressed it began to make more sense as to why she was in a living room because all the equipment necessary for an effective workout was in the room - coffee table, chair etc.
She moved quick but explained herself very well so I had no fears of hurting myself. I highly recommend this DVD.
