I have played Halo 2 on the Xbox before and this PC version is much better! Playing at 1920 X 1200 resolution the game looks great. I installed it on Windows 7 (64-bit) and ran into a small problem with the game loading. It was a problem with the old version of the games for windows marketplace that comes with the game.Just do the following: install the full game first (DO NOT select play while installing) then uninstall the old version of the games for windows marketplace client that comes with the game. Then install the new games for windows marketplace from the Microsoft Website [...] Then you should be able to play without getting an error message. I just hope they bring Halo 3 to PC soon!

It was such a long wait that I forgot how to play the game, its all coming back but I am not getting into this one like I did the first. I also had problems with mouse response, it is slow and laggy making it hard to respond quickly to attacks, not what I expected. I hope to sort this all out but thought that there would have been some updates to fix these problems. Due to these issues, and the somewhat dated look to the graphics (remember this was built to work with Vista, and held back until Vista was released) I am not loving this as much as I did HALO itself.

Product was fine but it does not work on Windows 7 or at least easily which was my fault despite what I found on many forums.

I have tried patches, updates, compatibility modes, search forums (where others complain of same problems) but NOTHING. Say's I'm already running it and there's a conflict... Pure bullcrap that Windows can't perfect compatibility. It's almost unfair saying that, "I hate it," on the star system - I don't even know if I hate it... I CAN'T PLAY s***! And it makes no sense returning it, the shipping would be as much as the game... So I threw away $21, how was your day? :)

usually takes a while for me to understand everything. The original Halo was fun to play with a good friend...not so much with an online stranger. I use mouse/keyboard mainly for ease of aiming. This item arrived in mint condition and weeks ahead of its estimated arrival. I'll just have to soldier on until I figure the controls out. The graphics are excellent. I would have given it 5 stars but it's a checkpoint game: you can't save whenever you want.

The Original Halo was a ground-breaking title. The expectation for HALO2 was so great that Microsoft decided to greedily milk its own users...PC users have been waiting for HALO2 to be released for Windows for over 3 years. Now is too little, too late. Not to mention the shameless WinVista promotion. All these years Microsoft was dragging its feet. Why? The release of (compatibility-hell) WinVISTA was coming - and HALO2 was planed to boost sales. Then WinVISTA got repeatedly delayed - and so was Halo 2. RESULT: In 2004 the graphics were cutting edge, in 2007 they are just presentable. Even though the game requires an above average (and quite expensive) Hardware configuration, it actually looks worse than UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004. QUESTION: why is HALO2 only compatible with WinVISTA since it does NOT take advantage of DirectX10? ANSWERS : (1) let's help sell those WinVISTA finally!; (2) there are hardly any affordable DirectX10-compatible video-cards available; (3) let's charge the users for playing OnLine with WindowsLIVE!! The gameplay and overall presentation is not that different from the original Halo. Sure, surfaces got better textured, shiny reflections got added and now (limiting and clumsy) dual-yield is available - but do these actually make a difference to a real gamer? It is truly a shame that PC users get exploited in such shameless way. After all, HALO3 is getting released for X-BOX. Wow! We get the privilege of playing the previous generation game! Aren't we lucky...

The game came in in good time after I purchased it. Only downside was I didn't pay attention that it required Windows Vista. A mistake on my part, but it works fine on my friends computer. An awesome game. Highly recommended :]
