will be missed!, Dec 16 2008
This review is from: Hex: The Complete First Season (DVD)
I just finished watching season 2 and it was not a series finale, so it's pretty frustrating. The season finale leaves us wanting more, but we'll never get it.
Apparently, the ratings of season two were not as good as the ones of the first season, thus the cancellation. It's surprising because personally, I think the second season is awesome and better than the first.
Yes, this box set contains all of season 1 and the first 4 episodes of season 2. Officially, season 1 contains 6 episodes and season 2 has 13.
Anyway, this is a great show for those who likes horror and fantasy.

Hex- Good show... To bad there wasn't more of it, July 29 2007
This review is from: Hex: The Complete First Season (DVD)
This has been a fun show to watch. In the US you have to have BBC America to see it, until now that is. They have finally released the first season (& I think there are four episodes of the 2nd on the DVD release as well)in the region 1 format. My understanding is that the episodes on BBC American as well the the US DVD release are the "shorter" apx 42 minutes, censored/cut versions. I would love to find out if this release in Canada is the same, or if it is the full UK versions.
I wish they would stop comparing it to Buffy. Both great shows, but very different concepts. Hex really could have used more time to build it's fan base, which is why I think Buffy lasted so much longer and had such a large following. Also with Hex, it was like the first season was almost one show and the second season as something altogher different. What with cast changes, the story hadn't just moved on but changed. We go from Cassie trying to figure out what is going on, what Azazeal wants of her... Then when Ella comes into the picture things change, we know what Azazeal was after, but he steps out of the picture, his & Cassie's son steps in. The show picks up the pace, but since it was then cancelled, you are left feeling a bit short changed.
