5.0 out of 5 stars Five great games, one disc, lots of bad press to ignore
Definitely ignore the bad press for this one. The load times aren't as bad as people say they are, and although they can be frequent, it's nice to have a PS3 system that can quick-save at any time (whereas the other available systems for this game do not have that feature). This review is from: The Orange Box (Half-Life 2: Episode 2 / Team Fortress 2 / Portal) (Video Game)
Definitely ignore the bad press for this one. The load times aren't as bad as people say they are, and although they can be frequent, it's nice to have a PS3 system that can quick-save at any time (whereas the other available systems for this game do not have that feature). To be honest, if you have a PS3 and solely a PS3, don't worry about getting this. Yes, it may run a tiny bit smoother on the other systems, but it's barely noticeable and hardly worth all the press it got. The bad press on this one was pretty ridiculous, and the low rating on Amazon for this game is beyond sad. What you're getting is Half Life 2, a fantastic shooter, plus its currently available episodic content, along with Portal (which is just beyond amazing) and Team Fortress 2. Most people know that, but I don't think people understand what a great value that is for any price up to $50. Just go get it - it's essential regardless of the press, and in the end, it's not going to matter what system you have it on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orange Box PS3, Jun 2 2012
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

The most fun you could have in a first-person action/shooter game.
Portal makes you think, and Glados is just pure entertaining.

where do i start?...I recently got this for a measly 20.00 bucks and gotta say it could be the best money i ever spent. The orange box has 5 games on one disk and for the price it really can't be beat. first off it has the complete Half life 2 series(The orginal HL2 + the shorter episodes 1 and 2. now for the few that have not played the HL2 series it could simply be the best damn game you'll ever play. the disk also has portal( a fun but sometimes annoying first person puzzle game) and team fortress(a multiplayer team shooter) but the real reason to own this is for Half Life 2. now i should mention the price mark down you'll see on it offten is because it was reported that the PS3 version has a lot of bugs and lags however those problem are mostly for the online multiplayer option. i've played the whole thing twice with no problems. bottom line if you were like me and never played HL2 before ,don't walk, RUN out and buy this and prepare to skip work, school or anything else for a few weeks.

This orange box by valve was received on time and in great condition. The product was wrapped up very well and the game had no problems whatsoever. All in all I enjoyed the look and presentation of this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Console versions of this game is lacking., Mar 5 2010
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Orange Box (Half-Life 2: Episode 2 / Team Fortress 2 / Portal) (Video Game)
What can I say the game is great but compared to its PC counterpart it is less than sub par. There are no mods, custom maps, or Visual quality. I had so many random lag spikes when trying to play it crippled the game play; not to mention TF2 runs and lags bad. Also the PC Version of TF2 now contains more official maps and weapons all for free. It only uses 500MB of the PS3's hard drive but runs bad; on the PC this game takes up 20GB so how this game even runs on the PS3 is amazing. Long story short if you have a choice to get this on the console or the PC, just get the PC version, but it will make a nice addition to your PS3 collection.
