Starts with commercials, but takes off from there,

This review is from: The Ghost Whisperer: Season 2 (DVD)
First off, I truly hate having commercials on TV DVDs since you're paying for commercial free programming, but at least you can skip them in this set. Also, once again, NO subtitles despite the claim to be close captioned.Nevertheless, this is the season of Payne, Professor Rick Payne, that is. It's also the introduction of Delia Banks and her son, Ned. It also conjures Melinda's father issues out of thin air (there's no mention at all in the first season). Nothing really even starts to come of that of note until the finale, though... Then again, it does build nicely on the first season, especially in relation to some of Jim's statements to Melinda which are built upon in later seasons. Now, this season drops a star in relation to the first not because of content, but format. On the back of the DVD cases, there is one episode "Children of Ghosts" which states it has commentary when that actually should be under "Delia's First Ghost". Also, while I don't mind the "Crystal Ball Mind Game" being on the first disk, there's something irritating about having the decomentary style bonus features split between the two last disks. I'd hate to have actually watched those feature on Disk 5 before finishing the season and then having some plot twists ruined as a result.

Aside from Melinda's constant cleavage, fake eyelashes that she even sleeps with, and pound of eye makeup, it's a great show. It's my substitute for Medium until season 6 arrives. It's exciting and well written. Almost as good as Medium. Same appeal. Full of surprises. Good acting. Love it.
