Fantastic Prenatal DVD,

This review is from: 10 Minute Solution: Prenatal Pilates (DVD)
I am just shy of 6 months pregnant right now and have been looking for straight forward effective workouts to continue doing while pregnant. I purchased a few off of Amazon that had good reviews but was quickly let down as some were too fast, too irritating, too difficult with back pain, etc.....UNTIL THIS ONE! Not only is she extremely pleasing to workout with (unlike some very annoying workout DVD hosts) but the workouts are simple, effective and only take 10 minutes each. I have gotten into the habit of teaming 2 different workouts each session and then adding some walking or biking. If you are a busy individual but want to pack in a little punch when time permits, this is a great choice. I have done pilates in the past but it has been years and I am still able to keep up with this and follow the correct breathing/ techniques. WELL WORTH IT!!

I would decide on a workout regime based on personal preference, but this one is nice and quick: you can pick which 10 minute workouts you want to create anything from a ten-minute to an hour-long workout. My favourite is the Pilates for Flexibility. Also, pilates for buns and thighs - difficult but short and rewarding! And anyone can benefit from these, expecting or not.

I'm in my 2nd trimester and have been using this dvd 2-3 times a week for the past few weeks. A 20 minute workout is the sweet spot for me, so I like to start with one of the full body ones and finish with the stretching. As a newbie to Pilates (but not a newbie to workout dvds), I find these workouts very easy to follow and the fact that the time flies for me means that they're good. ;) I always feel absolutely AMAZING after doing these workouts in the evening after being stuck sitting at my desk at work all day long.

This is an awesome workout for each trimester of pregnancy. You have the option to chose your 10 minute workout. It also uses weights for strength training. I used it everyday!

This DVD is terrific! I'm in my third trimester of my second pregnancy and I wish I'd had this for my first pregnancy! I am amazed that I can work out my core without any pain or discomfort and yet I still feel like I'm getting a workout. I LOVE this workout and each is only 10 minutes long which is perfect for my busy schedule with working and a 3 year old!

I love this DVD! I used to dance when I was younger and I feel like a lot of the exercises remind me of the stretching I used to do when dancing. At 25 weeks pregnant, I manage to do the entire DVD in one go, but I'll admit to taking a few breaks in-between sections. The instructor is really good, but she is quite fast-paced and gets your heart rate going. I also own some prenatal yoga DVD, but it wasn't moving enough for me. I love that I can keep the fitness up with the weights in this DVD. Truly, a good investment!

Quick training sessions, that's exactly what I was looking for. Not too hard, I'm starting to do this at 27 weeks so... :)

I really love this DVD! I love how you can workout for only 10 minutes if you do not have enough time. The woman is adorable & I love her voice. Very easy to follow and very upbeat!! Highly recommend this purchase!! Especially if you are feeling down!

I really like this workout DVD; it allows you to still keep your body toned throughout your pregnancy without pushing your body too far. I love that you can do one ten minute workout, do a few of them, or do the whole DVD for a 50 minute workout (not that I've done that, I usually pick two for a short but effective session). The instructor is pleasant and encouraging. This is not a cardiovascular work out, but I like it as a way to just get some exercise in while pregnant. It's not the most challenging workout I've ever done, but it's got nice, safe movements to do during pregnancy.

There aren't a lot of good prenatal fitness dvds to choose from, but this one is a sure-fire winner. I did it throughout my first pregnancy and I'm doing it again this time around because of how great it made me feel. There are five 10 minute prenatal workouts which offer a great variety - you can choose to do all (if you have more time) or only one or just a few (if you are pressed for time) in a customized workout. There are a good variety of easier and more difficult workouts that actually make you feel like you are DOING something. She uses some good classic pilates moves and includes strength training and flexibility components. There are three components that make a good workout dvd in my opinion: 1) a workout that actually makes you feel you've worked out! 2) a variety of exercises so it doesn't become boring and repetitious; 3) an instructor who isn't too peppy or obnoxious. This dvd delivers on all three parts and I would highly recommend it! Fellow pregnant women: do these workouts (or any) routinely and you will undoubtedly feel better and feel better about yourself! |
