I found this to be a raw drama of a family with major issues and how they try to stick together and figure things out - family first; all the while creating new problems. I enjoyed this thoroughly, too bad there is only one season.

A pleasant surprise,

I'm a huge HBO fan. If it's on HBO and then released on DVD there is a decent chance that it may find it's way onto my bookshelf. I ordered Black Donnellys on a whim, the price was right and it had a decent cast. I was pleasantly, pleasantly surprised. A character driven series the Black Donnellys surpassed my expectations. If you're like me and you a bit of an HBO fan, take a chance on Donnellys and you may be equally surprised.

Thsi series was great the problem was the time slot given by NBC. Given the sopranos has winded up NBC could/should have promoted this series more as it could have been score for them. Anyway great season to bad there was no more...cheers
