on March 30, 2011, you should update your page. Note the following:
- You're selling it for $45.00 CAD but you charged me $48.30 CAD.
- The product features list odour and residue filters. This product
DOES NOT use or contain filters.

I wanted a deep fryer. Then by accident I found this multicooker. It's less
than 1/2 price of other deep fryers I was considering. I bought this one and
I'm convinced I made the right choice. Here's why:

44% off and free shipping! Simple design with removeable pail makes cleaning
easy. Immersed heating element heats the oil, not the pan. Rotary thermostat
goes up to 375F, not 4 preset temps like some other products are. I'm also
getting a steamer and boiler. Large capacity: 5L pail! I'm a single male, but
the size is for *what* I can cook, not *how much* I can cook. It's too large
for anywhere but my kitchen floor. Quality materials: Black ENAMEL pail with
min/max marks *stamped* into it so it will never fade, roomy aluminum basket
(not cheap wire mesh), all circuitry is outside of the container, thick 1500W
heating element. Except for the timer. Mine doesn't work. I washed it under
running water, which may have damaged it. No big loss, I use my watch and
cooking times are always approximate anyway. Not a hinged lid, sits on pail.
Raise/lower basket with lid in place. Pre-heat light.

I tried deep frying and steaming with superb results. Heating the liquid may
take awhile (up to 15 min for oil, 30 min for water). I bought 6L of canola
oil for $10 CAD. It uses 4.3L to 4.9L. Oil is reuseable up to 12 times unless
you're deep frying meat.

The lid is designed so that it could be retrofitted with generic odour
filters, if you're mechanically inclined and willing to void your warranty.

Getting the basket in/out of the pail is tricky. Instructions are to tilt the
basket to avoid the drain hook. One wonders if there isn't a better method.
The photo on the cardbox box shows a wire mesh basket, probably an older
model. Cheap timer, could have been made waterproof. No odour/grease filters.
Heating element touches bottom of pail.
