5.0 out of 5 stars A lesson to other sequels/franchises/trilogies
This is an immensely solid followup to an already strong series. The caliber of actors they've been able to bring into this series is amazing, and story and character are never sacrificed for action. 3.0 out of 5 stars Bourne Series flopper??
In comparison the Bourne Supremacy- the film was not as well written. It seemed like a repeat of the same and there didn't seem to be that element of surprise in comparison to the Supremacy. A good film but not the best in the trilogy. Matt Damon fans- Bourne does a great job in his role but if it were not for being a fan I lost interest with this one.

And the writers really make an effort to go back and reference the earlier films. Specifically 'operation black briar' which was briefly mentioned at the end of film one, and also Bourne quoting something Clive Owen said to him in the first film.

Even the best of film series tend to fall apart by their third installment (I'm looking at you Spiderman and X-men) but this film was a pleasent surprise that lived up to, continued and from the looks of it concluded the Bourne saga.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jason Bourne: Full Throttle, May 5 2013

This is the final movie in the Bourne trilogy following "The Bourne Identity" (2002) and "The Bourne Supremacy" (2004).

This film is loosely based on the novel "The Bourne Ultimatum" (1990) by Robert Ludlum (1927 to 2001).

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) finally gets all the answers he was looking for in the first two films. In other words, all is revealed.

This movie takes us all over the world to such places as London, Paris, Madrid, and Tangier (in Morocco).

This is one, smart, action movie. It's also exciting. Action fans definitely will not be disappointed!

There are two chase scenes in this movie that are, in a word--unforgettable. These are a rooftop pursuit in Tangier and a New York City car chase. Also, there is one incredible fight scene.

Matt Damon gives a good performance as a former CIA assassin. As well, all supporting actors (such as Julia Stiles, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Albert Finney) give solid performances.

As with the two previous movies, the background music adds to each scene.

The DVD itself (the one released Dec. 2007) has seven extras. All of them are interesting.

Finally, some scenes employ a "shaky camera" technique. Personally, I found this interesting but some may find it distracting,

In conclusion, this is an excellent movie on which to end this trilogy. The numbers also prove this statement: this movie cost about one hundred and ten million dollars to make and the worldwide box office amount, thus far, is about four hundred and forty-three million!!

(2007; 1 hr, 45 min excluding end credits; wide screen; 20 scenes)

4.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best in the series, Dec 30 2007

The Bourne series proves to be one that continues to be worth watching with this, the third installment of the popular saga based on Robert Ludlum's novels. This installment is a vast improvement on the 2nd film, which was mediocre at best, and stands on par with the classic first film of the franchise.

"The Bourne Ultimatum" is by far the most revealing episode of the series as Bourne continuously learns revealing bits and pieces of who he is, all while the CIA is trying to thwart his attempts by assasinating him. The action never really lets up in this movie and Matt Damon does a fanatastic acting job, as has been customary of him. In a year marred with bad "threequels" such as the SpiderMan and Pirates of the Carribean entries, this film truly shines.

4.0 out of 5 stars back on song, March 14 2009

After the pedestrian 2nd flick in the Bourne series, it was great to see the 3rd (Ultimatum) hitting almost all the right notes. The last 20 minutes drags and the flashback scenes get tiresome which is all that prevents this from a 5-star rating in my books.

This movie also shows the benefit of getting actors who can actually act in all the secondary roles.

On a side note, where do these people get the energy when they never eat or drink anything in the entire movie? I'm just saying.

The extras on the DVD are first-rate including showing how they shot the chase and fight scenes as well as giving us a world tour of all the location shoots. Obligatory director's commentary track and deleted scenes included, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Motion sickness possible but great otherwise, Nov. 23 2007
This was far better than #2 and explained many of the things which you were left thinking "How was that possible" from the second one. While there was thankfully not the overkill of car chases in this one, the over use of the hand cam, running after the action did leave you with a strong feeling of motion sickness, even from the back of the theater. Hopefully this will not be so with the DVD.
Otherwise it's one of the best movies this year.

Well, if you've seen the first two, the third one won't surprise you.
It's simply the final episode in the trilogy.
If you liked the first two, you'll like this one as well.

Matt Damon is perfect for the part. I read the book fisrt and pictures a guy like him. He is true to the part, the director keeps it as Robert Ludlum wrote it. 10 out of 10

but I think the best of the series is past. Everything since Supremacy hasn't grabbed me the same way, tho I like this character enough to keep watching the movies to see where he ends up. Arrived in good time and great condition.
