5.0 out of 5 stars True, daring, authentic and addictive!
A friend recommended that I give this series a try. I must say I was curious, but I placed the first DVD in the player without a lot of enthusiasm. 4 hours later, a few discs later too, I was stunned, completely hooked by this daring show... The characters are all well written, and the actors are solid and credible. Splendid casting; Byrnes is absolutely brilliant! It's a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so hot!
I was all hyped up after reading so many rave critiques of "In Treatment", that when i actually saw the first two episodes, and snored through them, i was dismayed. What a letdown! The actors playing the clients seemed to be doing Acting Class 201, where they get to do a melodramatic monologue. And Gabriel Byrne, acting the quiet therapist, seems as bored as i...

It's a tour de force to be able to make people watch what is almost theater, since we are in one room (most of the time the same room...), watching 2 or 3 people talking. No action, but an emotional roller-coaster. No music, so that the intensity of the dialogues and the power of those silences hit you... This is not a TV show that you passively watch, it's one that you experience. Flawless, engaging, intelligent, touching... Impressive television!! I can't wait for the release of season 2!

This review is from: In Treatment, Season 1 (Sous-titres français) (DVD)
Unfortunately, over a month after purchase, this item hasn't yet arrived. Apparently, according to an email I received, it's the fault of the Canadian postal system, which confused me a little, as I thought the item was being shipped locally, from a Canadian distributor, to an address in Canada? If delays of this length are likely, it might be helpful to warn people of that up front.
