I Looovee the Chipmunks
This movie was one of my favourites as a kid, its up there with Disney. For one thing, Theodore is so darn cute. Everytime he is about to get a meal, the Chipmunks have to leave the country! This movie is quite adorable, and if I ever have children, its one of the top five that I will buy.

Where is the DVD??? otherwise good...
I am VERY Disappointed in the fact that THE CHIPMUNK Adventure did not get the DVD treatment... I thought that it was a wonderful take on Around The world in 80 Days... I liked the scene where Alvin realizes that Mrs Miller was going to watch them while Dave was gone... Some Scenes has some problems with consistancy though...There is a scene where the boys are in a...

They don't make 'em like this anymore, Janv. 6 2008
This was one of my absolute favorite films to watch as a kid. This is evidenced by the fact that last week when I decided to watch it again for the first time in a dog's age, my poor old VHS tape was worn out like you wouldn't believe. What's worse, my mom's cheap VCR mangled the tape when I ejected it... and that very evening I came straight on here and bought the DVD. So now I probably don't have to tell you that I think this is a wonderful film. But it really is! No matter how old I get, my appreciation for it is never shaken. I'd say it has aged better than just about any other movie from my childhood. The charm of the story and characters hasn't faded, nor do they seem out of date after 20 years.
One thing I really admire this film for is how it succeeds so well at (to use a tired cliche) having something for everyone. As a kid I was happy just to listen to the music (which is also top-notch) and watch the adorable cast members travel the world while avoiding baddies, and not caring about anything else. But when I watch it now, I'm like, "Wow, it's about diamond smugglers?? That's pretty sophisticated for a kid's movie!" There's a whole dark side of the film that I didn't have access to as an 8-year-old. And the brilliant thing is they managed to pull that off without constantly going over kids' heads and making it seem like the film is actually being marketed to the parents, which so many so-called children's movies do nowadays.
So anyhow, wonderful movie, children of any age will love it to death and want to watch it again and again (so DVD is a wise investment ;) I really hope films like this continue to be appreciated by future generations, because I'm afraid they'll be a lost art soon. The Chipmunk Adventure is for me a reminder of a time when animated films really had heart and a timeless quality. Please do someone you love a favor and watch it with them!

Memory's a Bit Blurry and Admittedly Biased., Mai 8 2004

First off, I used to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks when I was younger, whether it be by television or VHS tapes. I actually didn't care for some of the characters (Alvin, his female counterpart Brittany, and how Dave is always clueless) but the songs more than made up for it. When this movie first appeared on TV, I tried to catch as much as possible, and was instantly hooked. The songs were catchy with lovable lyrics, easy for young children to sing for hours afterwards, and, of course, the underlying message of strong family bonds throughout the entire second half of the movie. I can only hope that, one day, my children will enjoy watching this marvelous movie as much as I did.

Classic, Mai 5 2004

My brother and I watched The Chipmunk Adventure so many times when we were little that even today, both in our 20s, we can recite the first fifteen minutes of the movie. The movie is fast paced and laced with very memorable songs. I bought the movie to share with my children, and I'm happy to say that it's one of the few movies from my childhood that hasn't lost its charm! I highly recommend it to all.

Chipmunks were among the best of 80's cartoons!, Avril 7 2004
This movie is awesome! Animation, characters, storyline. All top notch and timeless. One of my all time favorite movies ever. I loved the Chipmunks 80's cartoon series and this film marks one of the best Chipmunk moments in my book. Saw it when I was 10, and still love it to this day (at 27). This just has to be released on DVD. I'll be among the first to snatch up a copy as I've just about worn out my personal VHS copy I recorded off of the Disney channel quite a few years ago. This is a must have movie for any animation fan, and especially for any Chipmunk fan.

I may have been born in 1992, but I am a HUGE fan of all 80's carttoons, especialy this one! It has awesome animation, great songs and the plot IS GREAT. The only regret I have is never actually seeing it on TV, or at least as I can remember. I probaly saw it when I was about 2,3 years old. That's about all I wrote down...um..I mean..It's been good talking to you! Bye-Bye! CHIPMUNKS ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched this movie so much when I was a little kid. My favorite part of the movie was when Eleanor (I think) was singing to the penguin. It was such a great movie, and I loved the chipmunks. I remeber watching the cartoon every day after school. I hope it is on DVD soon.

THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE IS ONE OF THE OLD FASHION MOIVE THAT I LOVE. THE CHIPMUNKS CAN BE FUN BECAUSE OF THE MUSIC THAT YOUR SON OR DAUTHER WILL LOVE TO SING AND DANCE TO. THE CHIPMUNKS ARE NOT JUST FOR CHILDREN ITS FOR BOTH YOUNGE AND OLD ITS A GREATE FAMILY MOVIE FOR ALL SOME OF THE SONGS THAT YOULL LOVE ARE BOYS OF ROCK AND ROLL WOLLY BULLY I YI YI YI AND A BUNCH MORE. NOW BUY THE MOVIE AT A LOW PRICE AND HAVE FUN!!@$

Awesome, and a Very Fun and Carefree Movie, Nov. 13 2003
Why is this film not yet out on DVD? Judging by the other reviews, I have no doubt that it would sell very well.THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE is a classic; a true masterpiece; and should not be taken lightly. It has a great storyline, some gorgeous animation, and has a pretty good soundtrack. There is not really anything more to say that hasn't already been mentioned in other reviews. This is just a very fun and carefree animated movie. I am a huge fan of The Chipmunks '80's television series; and THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE simply plays out like a pro-longed episode. While other movies based on television shows seem to "distance" themselves from the feel of a series, THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE maintains the same style exhibited on their show (not their original series; I cannot stand watching that LOL). I truly hope that this movie is released on DVD. Up to now, there all only four chipmunks DVD's (available on Alvin & the Chipmunks official web site); only one of them being a "classic" program. Hopefully, we will get more of the older stuff next year!

should appeal to all ages, Mai 10 2003

This is one of those strange movies that has humor for all ages. little kids will love it for the calming adventure and very fun layed back style. I used to love it for that but now i watch it when i'm older and realize there is more appeal to this than there once was. It is also filled with hidden adult type humor also. For example the two villans are smuggling diamonds and are from costa rica. David going on a "business trip" out of country and strictly refuses to take the chipmunks. And then there is sexual appeal. The chipmunks and chipettes seem awefully playfull against each other such as in girls/boys of rock and roll. and then there is the infamous chipettes Gettin' Lucky With You...sung to snakes. The snakes seem awefully happy starting at the second chorus. Also during the main chorus and when the snake wraps around Jeanette im sure it enjoyed every second he had her body. same with the end of the song. As you can see there is no reason to not like this movie and should be a must for everyones movie collecting no matter how old you are.
