4.0 out of 5 stars Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol.6
I own most of the Volumes of the Looney Tunes and have not been disappointed in the content or quality of the cartoons or the many extras that come with it. I always wait for sales on these titles as the orginal cost is too high. The biggest surprise in this volume was the great documentary on the "man of a thousand voices", Mel Blanc. I would have bought this volume...

3.0 out of 5 stars Running out of Old Cartoons
Volume 6 has some drawbacks. Disc 1 has everything that you would expect. Disc 2 has some great World War II Cartoons from the War Years. Disc 3 is a throw away DVD unless you appreciate old Black & White 1930's cartoons without your favourite characters. Disc 4 may appeal to the youngster with Horton and other non descript Warner Cartoons. Volumes 1 to 5 were great...

4.0 out of 5 stars Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol.6, Jun 8 2011

I own most of the Volumes of the Looney Tunes and have not been disappointed in the content or quality of the cartoons or the many extras that come with it. I always wait for sales on these titles as the orginal cost is too high. The biggest surprise in this volume was the great documentary on the "man of a thousand voices", Mel Blanc. I would have bought this volume just for this documentary. I would highly recommend this DVD.

This collection is great for any devoted Looney Tunes fan or animation history buff. Each disc is aptly titled, and includes a multitude of rarities. Disc 4 - Most Requested Assorted Nuts & One-Shots has many classic and almost forgotten favourites. Disc 3 - Bosko, Buddy & Merrie Melodies contains many early black and white shorts. Disc 2 - Patriot Pals, as the cover indicates includes wartime propaganda, anti-Hitler fare. And Disc 1 - Looney Tunes All Stars contains the more contemporary mainstream, yet lesser known, shorts. Overall this set is very enjoyable (and educational). (As expected, there is a warning, noting that certain racist portrayals were representative of the era.) Also there are some wonderful bonus materials in this collection which include many commentaries, music-only tracks, additional shorts, tv specials, studio home-movies, and my favourite, a superb 69min. documentary profile, Mel Blanc: The Man of a Thousand Voices! Highly recommended.

I have the other 5 volumes and this was just as good as all of the others, a great selection of old cartoons which will always be thoroughly enjoyed by one and all

This DVD set of Volume 6 is a bit of a let down when you want more of Warner's Famous Cartoon Characters.
