This review is from: Butterfly [Import] (DVD)
Well, what can you say about a movie that has Orson Welles, Ed McMahon, and T.V.'s "Lost in Space" June Lockhart in it? Released in 1982 and directed by Jayne Mansfield spouse Matt Cimber, "Butterfly" stars a young and beautiful Pia Zadora as a wayward daughter who returns home to father Stacey Keach's shack in depression-era Nevada. Keach's character is the caretaker of an abandoned silver mine, and it's his job to guard the mine from unauthorized entry. Pia Zadora's character is determined to create a better life for her and her child, and so the first order of business is ... to seduce her father!?!?

Totally panned by critics upon it's release, this movie still has a few things going for it. One of them is Orson Welles' portrayal of a corrupt small-town judge. Other standout performances are delivered by James Franciscus and Edward Albert ("House Where Evil Dwells). Also on display are Ms. Zadora's ample charms, which at the time earned her a photo spread in Penthouse magazine.

All in all, this is a campy and delightfully entertaining little film.
