Lynyrd Skynyrd All Time Greatest Hits is a must have for anyone you will love this one. I was disapointed the CD only included the live version of Free Bird the orginal studio version is 100% better. Anyone will love this CD weither you like rock or dont this will fill your joy. I love the following songs Sweet Home Alabama, Gimmie Three Steps, Gimmie Back My Bullets, and Whats Your Name. All the songs on this one are great their is not one song on this that you will be disapointed on other than Free Bird(live). I have been a classic rock fan for a long time so I would know about alot of these bands. Also the booklet included is sweet you will love it so ENJOY!!!!!

If your looking for the best greatest hits collection Southern rock has to offer, look no further than here. This album features the best songs ever recorded by the greatest group of Southern rockers to ever pick up instraments and grace the stage. Whether your into Southern rock, Classic rock, 80's rock, Country, Bluegrass, Metal, whatever type of Rock music your into, this CD, and this group, belongs in your collection.

I listen to a very wide range of rock music, such as,
Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimmi Hendrix, Kid Rock, Led Zepplin, Alice in Chains, even some Hank WIlliams Jr, and many more, and I can honestly say that Lynyrd Skynyrd is very high on my list of favorites. If your into rock, give this album a try, you won't be disapointed.

Man, do I love Skynyrd. An this here graetest hits is definitly a smoking record. I mean, it starts off with Sweet home Alabama, and this is a song that goes back to when I was like 13, and taking my dads truck over to my girlfriends and picking her up, and taking her for a ride and showing her what a good time really was. Gimme three steps, is great, Simple man almost makes me cry, but I can hold it in. Call me the breeze is a classic, me and my buddies listend to it when we dropped out of high school in 74, driving around in my dads truck singing along. the live version of Freebird they put on here just shows what a great band Skynyrd was, and even though ROnnie aint with us no more, aint nuthin gonna stop skynyrd!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, July 26 2003
This review is from: All Time Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is an excellent CD and is a must have. The thing keeping me from giving it five stars is Free Bird Live. I think they screwed up by putting the Live version on there which takes up 15 minutes I think they should have Put Tuesdays Gone and Don't Ask Me No Questions. Other than that its a great CD.

Lynrd Skynyrd is the ultimate of southern rock! This was a band I listened to when I was young and I feel young when I hear their songs again. You won't be disappointed if you decide to buy this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Best!!!, Mar 3 2003
This review is from: All Time Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This CD has the best flow of Skynyrd songs. I think its the best Skynyrd hits CD because it comes with a biography on the inside. Right now, my whole family knows I love Skynyrd and proud of it. I play this CD in my truck alot because it seems to have a good theme for driving on the highway. If my brother drives my truck, he'll usually come out saying, "You still have that CD in there?" He loves Skynyrd too, but he can't believe that I love Skynyrd that much.

My only disappointment with this CD is that they didn't include "Tuesday's Gone." Even though I have it on another CD, I would've still liked it to be in the mix of Skynyrd songs I have. I still give it 5 stars because I appreciate the sound of Skynyrd. It starts out with the best southern anthem, "Sweet Home Alabama", and the rest is the best sounds of Skynyrd alive, especially "Free Bird" live.

For everybody else, I really recommend making this a gift to somebody who loves Lynyrd Skynyrd and nothing but Skynyrd.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lasting Legacy, Dec 12 2002
This review is from: All Time Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
To my mind, Lynyrd Skynyrd was and is one of the great southern bands of all time, not to mention one of the great American bands of all time.

"All Time Greatest Hits" is proof of this band's lasting legacy, tragically ended in a 1977 plane crash that killed lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, whose awesome voice was matched only by his songwriting genius; third guitarist Steve Gaines, whose addition to the band added zest and maturity; his sister Cassie, who sang background; and original tour manager Dean Kilpatrick. What an infinite loss for the music world, and how lucky we are to be able to listen to the music they left behind.

Because this collection is the band's greatest hits, all are familiar and well-loved, from "Sweet Home Alabama" to "What's Your Name" to "Free Bird," a magnificent live version that simply tears your heart out. But I love "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe," which Van Zant wrote with Allen Collins, an ode to the unsung heroes of the blues; and "Comin' Home," haunting in retrospect.

Really, I cannot say enough about this band and their music, and I recommend this collection to fans of the band as well as those whose only connection to their hits is "Sweet Home Alabama."
