An AMAZING film for the everyone,

I saw this film at the 2008 Vancouver Film Festival. It was a sold out film and they had to add 2 extra nights. Everyone - I mean everyone - was laughing to the point of tears. I must say it is one of the best comedies I have ever seen. It is subtitled but the humour is not impacted by this fact.

Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (Welcome to the Sticks) is a 2008 French comedy film starring Kad Merad, Dany Boon and Zoé Félix. The film has broken nearly every box office record in France. This movie brought down the house at our local film festival. It's a classic comedy with lots of laughs and poignant moments. In French with easy-to-follow English subtitles. Highly recommended!!

Making fun of all stereotypes about Northern French people and French prejudice, Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis still manages to be a warm portrayal of working class French people. It is a lovely movie.

This well made movie is full of laughs and interesting turns from beginning to end. The two principal actors are hilarious and believable. You can only fully appreciate this movie if you have a very good understanding of the French language and culture. It is not possible to translate the slang and humour into English effectively and the sub-titles reflect this. Nevertheless, it's well worth watching because it's so much fun.

Lighhearted movie that delves into the cultural differences between the inhabitants from the north and south of France. Lots of laughs and twists. Feel good movie with an ending that brings a smile to your face.

This movie is very funny, but it helps a lot if you understand French. Many of the gags have to do with the way French is spoken in Nord Pas de Calais, and the subtitles don't do them justice.
