This review is from: Tenchu: Shadow Assasins (Video Game)
gameplay:This game is okay. It's an interesting take on the "avoid detection" mini genre. There are a number of weapons you gather to help you kill silently, get items, and traverse the levels. The levels are fairly limited, and although a few have more than one exit, the gameplay is pretty limited. You will also start to recognize areas, playing a different part of the same area, or with a different set of enemies. visual: The graphics are not bad, but some of the effects get boring pretty quickly. sound: The background music is nice, although it gets a bit annoying. Listening to footsteps, and overhearing conversations with enemies could have been a bit more refined. replay: If you are the type of person to play for perfect, this game has a rating system. Some levels need an item from another level to find the last enemy, etc. The are also a number of short 'challenges' which are awarded after you get a certain rating on a mission. These challenges are rated as well. With the ratings, this game will take some replaying, and will keep you interested while trying to shave a few seconds off your time. Overall: This game pulls off a decent avoid detection style, but could use a bit more substance, and larger, original levels. Wii notes: This game is quite good at keeping movement of the wiimote, and nunchuck minimal, and the swordplay uses the wii-mote well. Good job with balance here. Some people may prefer a little more wii-mote action. |
