A good movie but a bit of an emotional tear jerker. Great to see Richard and Diane together on screen again they are two naturals who work great together. An inspiration of the strength of the human spirit.

This is an entertaining, Saturday night-type love story that you will probably enjoy if you don't think too deeply about it. Surprisingly convincing acting from Richard Gere and some really moving moments from Diane Lane. I actually bought it because I'm partial to movies that are set at the beach (The Outer Banks, N.C., in this case). I also liked the fact that Gere and Lane both have quite a few undisguised lines on their faces. They looked like real people, not movie stars. The ending was really touching, if not what I was hoping for. (No happy endings here, I regret to say.)

I did, however, find it odd that the clothes of the principal characters while in Rodanthe were always blue, from start to finish. I couldn't figure out why. In fact, everything in the movie was blue. Even the daughter's eyeliner on a close-up shot was blue. Now, I love blue, but I wasn't sure what point the director was trying to get across. There were also some pretty unrealistic moments, like when the kids came home and their mother was sitting at the kitchen table in a semi-catatonic state. Come on, now! We get that she's grief-stricken, but that was a little much. And Gere's son showing up so quickly with his box. And the mysterious herd of horses. These are the sorts of details that intruded on my viewing pleasure. But perhaps they won't intrude on yours.

So get your blue jeans on and hope your husband will watch it with you. Or not.

Although the story in the movie differs somewhat from the book, the movie is still very good and worthwhile watching. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone interested in purchasing the movie.

My lady absolutely loves this film - it's her favorite. I bought this Blu-Ray for her after her DVD got damaged by a visitor's stupid dog. Excellent price, fast shipping and quality product. Couldn't be happier.

Great chemistry between Diane Lane and Richard Gere. Definitely a great love story and .Well worth the buy! glad I purchased it.

This film is fun to watch because of the beautiful not so young actors, but many things are impossible, especially the strange house which can certainly not stay erect more than five minutes during a storm! And during stressful moments you protect yourself instead of kissing an almost stranger...This is typical of an American love movie! But why not! You watch, you enjoy, you dream and you don't ask too much questions...It is like the VISA commercial: "If life was like that!"...

As I have not viewed this DVD as yet, I cannot comment on whether it works or not.

I did receive it very quickly (one week), but was annoyed that the postage on the package was so much lower than what I was charged for shipping. Surely labour and the actual padded envelope didn't cost the sender more than 3 times the actual postage and cost of envelope, but that was what I was charged.
