We saw Mulligans at the film festival here in Rochester and were so impressed with the relevance of the story. So many people are coming out later in life - after marriage, children and career and are trying to find a way to navigate the world as a new person.

I was very disappointed by this movie. I thought I was watching a bad soap opera ! I think that the actors did the best they could with a very poorly written and directed movie. I could not get past the fact that the two men who played 'college' guys looked 30 ! And that a 'BEST' friend could not know that the other was gay was beyond belief. Why were they best friends...

Why were they best friends anyway ? They had nothing in common. Embarrasing scenes when one guy has sex with his girlfriend whilst the other guy is in the other bed. Who would do that ? And of course the predictable shower scenes: 'please use a towel' (the first time) and 'why are you covering with a towel (the second time). And this was a BIG house so why did they share a room in the first place ? Was the gay guy in love with the straight one ? And if so what kind of fool sleeps with his BEST friend's married father ? There was no chemistry between the Charlie David character and Dan Payne (the father). They even looked very odd together. But the worst part of the film for me was Charlie David 'acting'. He emotes as much as a paper bag. No chemistry with the leads and a very bland actor. Pretty does not carry a film. All in all a very amateurish and predictable movie. Even the sex scenes were without any passion.

The acting is wonderful, it's a story that needs to be told and it's beautiful. The music was really great too, would love to get a soundtrack.

Definitely recommend Mulligans - a 'gay film' for everyone. An important film for straight people to see.

A feel good movie about gay life, down to earth experience with a small town flare. With the same feel as Northern Exposure.

What a waste of time. I'm not sure what was the worst part of the movie. Was it the acting, was it the editing, or maybe it was the directing. OH it was all three!
