The machine lasted 2 years. It makes really good coffee. Takes a while to heat the milk. Makes good froth. Our machine started leaking from the bottom. The plastic part where the water gets discard has a problem... I wish this machine would have been made to last longer...

Good machine, very solid, and good quality for the price range. A few drawbacks:
-The milk doesn't get as hot as I would like. I usually heat it just one cup at a time.
-The machine is very loud.
-The espresso cup doesn't have a catch so that you flip it upside down and shake the used beans into the trash - if turned upside down, the inner cup falls out, so it's necessary to instead scoop the used beans out with a spoon.
Still, glad I purchased it - I think it rates much better than others in the same price range.

We have owned 2 of these. They make incredible coffee, but the plastic parts on the inside do wear out if you use the machine "a lot"... with "a lot" being 2-3 drinks a day. We had our first machine fail in the first month, the steam system on it blew a big hole in the plastic case. Our second unit made it about 18 months, and a big hole blew in the plastic compressor on it.

If they made the insides out of metal, odds are they'd last longer, and I'd give the system a much higher review. I love my machine, I just wish it lasted longer for what you pay for it.

Machine completely failed within about 7 days.
Now I have to see how long warranty repair takes.
No coffee for me.

Purchased this for our christmas present...Love it....expresso everyday...the perfect afternoon pick-up. The instant hot water dispenser is great for extra water for a full cup of coffee or for making tea. Steamming milk is a breeze for hot chocolate and faster than the stove top and no saucepan to wash! I steam heat other liquids that have gotten cold as well...prefer it to the microwave. The water holding tank is a fantastic idea, love it.

I was scared at first to buy such an expensive product online, but I really weren't disappointed. I received the machine the next day, very well protected in a double packaging. And it makes such an extraordinary coffe, it's an endless pleasure.
The only thing is that I hoped to be able to make tea with the instant hot water option, but it really isn't hot enough for that purpose, which is why I put 4 stars instead of 5.
For all the rest, the machine is very well equiped, efficient, userfriendly and easy to clean. I definitely recommend this product.

We have had the breville for about 3 weeks now, and find in an excellent machine. The quality of coffee is excellent.We don't like the water reservoir how it is quite awkward to remove. But you get used to that. Would I buy this machine again. Yes!!!
