I've liked the katamari games ever since they first came out on the PS2, and this iteration builds wonderfully on the established formula up to and including the point where your rolling up the entire galaxy. Also, the fact that the load times are near non-existent, the transitions between size levels is almost unnoticeable and the game doesnt require you to do a 2-4 gig data install to achieve any of this is an incredible testament to how well they've adapted the game for PS3. Loved this game when it first came out, and it still holds its awesomeness.

If you enjoy the Katamari Damacy series, you know exactly what you're getting here: several levels of rolling up items as small as thumbtacks and as big as entire planets. The thing is, if you've enjoyed the Katamari Damacy series from the beginning, you know EXACTLY what you're getting with Katamari Forever, because you've played 95% of these levels before. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you should certainly go into it with the mindset that this is a "best of" collection. Levels are included from all three of the console Katamari games (Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari for the PS2, and Beautiful Katamari for the Xbox360), unfortunately (or possibly fortunately?) they didn't toss in a level or two from the PSP's "Me and My Katamari". A couple minor gameplay mechanics have been added, such as the ability to jump (either with the mostly unresponsive "sixaxis" controls, or with a button press) and the ability to suction up items around you by grabbing a "heart". The difficulty is oddly varying with this collection, because the first two Katamari games were quite a bit more difficult than the 360's game, so certain early levels that were drawn from the PS2 games will seem much harder than later levels that were taken from Beautiful Katamari. The only "major" difference is that the graphics have seen an overhaul from the quirky "block figures" that the series has been known for to a more cell shaded look, which I think looks great in HD (certainly better than they have been, even if they were always intentionally minimalistic). They still aren't exactly "detailed", but this is not a game one purchases because they want photo-realistic graphics. If you've NEVER played a Katamari game, this is really the perfect place to start because you're getting almost everything from the series so far in one nice little package. There's over 30 levels or challenges (each with 3 or 4 modes including the return of the always fun "Eternal" mode where you can just roll up everything in the level with no time limit, and classic where the blocky graphics return and they take away the jumping and powerups for the "purists"), a boatload of things to unlock, and all the wackiness that this Japanese series is known for. It's lots of fun and a person could spend several hours trying to roll up every last present, cousin, and item, not to mention the challenge of trying to get 120 points on each level (in all available modes). And yes, your friends will wonder if you're on something when you're humming the catchy soundtrack because it's stuck in your head, but who cares. If you're looking for a game that actually lives up to the old cliche of "fun and simple to pick up and play but difficult to master", here it is.

Not as tightly designed as the original PS2 games but still my favorite pick up and play game on the PS3

Roll roll roll - roll everything you see in front of you up to form a bigger Katamari. I enjoy this game very much.

Bought this for my boyfriend because he had originally played the other games in this series. He seems to enjoy it, and it is rather fun: rolling things up and around rarely gets boring in this idiosyncratic game (=

Looked more interesting than it is when watching and not playing. Objectives of this game are unclear and repetitive and I would not recommend purchasing this to even my worst enemy
