3.0 out of 5 stars Sound quality just isn't there
I purchased this item because I was looking for equipment that would play a combination of CD, receiver and iPhone. This docking system does all of that plus it has USB and MP3 link capability. I bought it to replace an ancient Panasonic 'boom box' that had no docking capacity.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works!, Aug 25 2011

I wanted something like this to play cd's of mp3's (as well as other music cd's), to use with my Ipod Classic and also with a usb port to use with a flash drive. This model does all this as well as the other usual features, like radio (not internet radio), earphone, remote control and alarm functions.

The sound is rich and it is portable at just over a foot long. This is a simpler alternative to firing up the stereo and I can take it with me to different rooms or put in the car on trips where there won't be any internet.

Very pleased.

This is a great product...It's easy to assemble and use (great instruction booklet). One of the features that I was impressed with was the digital panel. I have this in my bedroom and although the panel is small, the first night I used it I had to cover it up because it was so bright. I read the instructions again the next day and found that a simple touch of a button on the remote turns the light off. I love it.

I purchased this item because I was looking for equipment that would play a combination of CD, receiver and iPhone. This docking system does all of that plus it has USB and MP3 link capability. I bought it to replace an ancient Panasonic 'boom box' that had no docking capacity.

The unit is pretty much as advertised, relatively compact, not unattractive and including a bass boost and the option to choose among jazz, classical, pop and rock preset eq profiles. Unfortunately, the sound quality is just not there. The sound is thin. Even with the bass boost engaged, the lower range is not resonant. I am now exploring the possibility of running this unit through the old Panasonic.

If you want a small unit for the kitchen or garage, this one will do the trick. For locations where more resonance is sought, look elsewhere.

Within the class of ipod docking systems and CD Radio stand alone systems, this is a standout quality product.
The price is excellent for the quality of sound and the various inputs handled, Flash drives, MP3 and Audio CDs, ipods and the AM/FM radio. No more tinny sound with this machine either
I will use it inside the home and outside on the deck for parties and dances.
Amazon's usual fast service remains a definite plus.
