The arrival of first grandchild occasioned the need for a camcorder. My son suggested the Flip Ultra for its ease of use, small size and high picture quality. I was not disappointed: it is the most user friendly piece of equipment I have had in years. The instructions are simple, very clear and extremely straightforward. 2 hours of video is enough for any event or holiday, downloading onto computer dead simple and generally a joy to use. Seriously user friendly software "FlipShare" is easy to learn, no problem to use. The camcorder is now in my pocket wherever I go, so I will never miss an interesting event or the next smile on my grandson's face.

This is a great little camera and does a superb job for the price. There is however one important problem. Two hours of video sounds great, but you will need a pocket full of spare batteries to get there. If it is a special occasion, loading with lithiums will give you some more endurance, but still not the full two hours. The camera will only charge from a brand name Flip USB power source or it may charge from a computer but this may be complicated. Third party rechargeable batteries will not charge in the camera, you need a Flip dedicated battery pack to do that. This is too bad as the folks at Flip got everything else right (and they did it with the Mino models which don't seem to share this problem).

Simply awesome. Very easy to use for anyone who isn't technically inclined. No disk to use for installing. I love the fact that it has it's own built software. Size is nice and compact for taking anywhere with you. The flip was scheduled to get to our house after Christmas, but we got it Christmas Eve, just in time to record our youngest baby's first Christmas. We didn't miss a moment.

Great little device for keeping with you to catch family moments. The picture quality is good but the sound pick-up does not match bigger video recorders. The Flip's supporting software for editing and storage was easy to use. It is great to be able to directly view the video on the TV after a day out.

cute little video camerea- suitable for a beginner or someone who occassionally video tapes things.....
