I've had three different shipments of this box set and every one of them has gone back. All of them were US pressings, but I can't really slag the third one so much because I never did give that one a listen. That one went back because it was shipped without a shipping box and was damaged in transit as a result. When it comes to these US pressings, if they're ok, then they'll sound really really good. When you get the warping or off-centre pressing etc etc they suck. The first set I got contained 8 flawed records. Oddly it was all the latter half of their body of work. When the second set came I began playing from Past Masters on back and only because it was the latter half that was flawed the first time. I didn't make it beyond Past Master though...it was warped and back the whole thing went. When the third one came in the condition it was in I decided that fate doesn't want me to have this box set right now, so I'm getting a refund. I'm sure if you really wanted the set you can request replacements for individual records from Capitol Records if you get flawed vinyl, but I think when there's really so many bad ones out there judging from all the negative feedback I'd just save my money if I were you.

I've ordered this twice and both times received records that are noisy and many with the hold not punched in the center. Quite disappointed in the shoddy manufacturing of these records. If you have a nice sound system to play your records on you may want to consider not purchasing these.

I was really looking forward to getting this vinyl set, to replace my worn out originals. I had however read that some of the pressings were from the USA, and some from the EU - the latter being far superior.

Mine arrived - the packaging was superb - everything looked perfect. Then I opened the box and examined the discs. What a disappointment - the edges were poorly trimmed, there were visible bands on the surface (which translated to a loud whoosh when played) and the sound was flat as a pancake. Of course, the set I had was the USA version - shame.

I requested an RMA and will not be taking a chance on another set unless I can guarantee their origin.

The problem these days - and I don't blame Amazon at all for any of the above - is that vinyl buyers and fans are essentially all fussy audiophiles. Historically, 90% of buyers would not have the equipment or the 'Ears' to notice or care about manufacturing defects (BSR turntables with ceramic cartridges for example). As such, the few returns that would have come from the (at the time) minority would have been acceptable.

Right now, it's difficult to even find a poor quality turntable (unless you count awful USB based units that big box retailers sell).

So, unless the vinyl producers begin to supply high quality discs that we can enjoy, they are going to see return after return after return.

Search YouTube for Audio Fidelity and you'll see videos of their presses and the QA processes - that's where I'll be spending my money from now on (for Vinyl at least).

In conclusion - leave well alone. Unless you're deaf.

It's like russian-canadian roulette. Most of the shipments are the US Beatle albums which are a bunch of warped tacos. If you are super lucky, you get the German records which are fine.

Returning them is a huge pain in the *** and getting a replacement is even worse. They will not tell you which flavor they are shipping. They are beating me down, I am confused. I want to start sending them Beatles albums and I don't know why.

DO NOT talk to them via chat; call them for returns. Seriously.

Very disappointed, lot's of surface noise and non-fill, and amazon will not exchange it, I can only return it. I could reorder the same box for 60$ more than I paid for. Really amazon, lately I've been thinking just stoping doing business here...

What can I say that hasn't already been said.I was expecting the US pressing
but was very surprised to see that it was a E.U. pressing. And I must tell you
I could not be happier :).I have been a Beatle fan since the day I bought my
first Beatle 45 rpm (Please Mr Postman) back in the 60's.It is worth every penny.
At the cost of $229.99 you can't go wrong especially for the E.U. pressing.
The whole package was well put together..... Time to spin some vinyl :)

So I figured a year went by, maybe they have fixed the issues with the USA set or maybe I would get a EU Set (I asked Amazon before ordering and they could not say which one I would get). So I ordered late November 2013, and unfortunately I got the USA box and it is STILL riddled with problems. I contacted Amazon to replace it and they passed me the manufacturer`s email to replace discs that were defective (in other words Amazon KNOWS they are still charging for and shipping defective sets). Since about 10 of the discs were faulty in the set I received (warped, off center, no-fill issues, Abbey Road side 2 had a gash on it like it had been dropped a couple of times), I asked for a replacement of the FULL SET and they said no they would only supply the email address to replace single discs. So I asked then to change it from replace to reimburse so now I am sending the box back to Amazon on their dime for a full refund.

Amazon and EMI/Capitol should be ASHAMED that they are still sending out USA sets riddled with problems. This is one year after release and MANY complaints, to the point where Amazon has a cut-and-paste reply to contact EMI directly for replacements. They KNOW these sets suck, yet they still sell them. I know some people are getting the EU set from Amazon.ca but I was not one of the fortunate. The Beatles catalog DESERVES BETTER! I guess I will continue to listen to my original LPs and the CDs, but I really wanted this set to complete my collection. I will hopefully someday find a company with more INTEGRITY to be forward about which set they are shipping (in other words, DO NOT buy the USA set, I can only hope the EU set is better quality, the one I got was so bad it was really a joke - and we are talking 13 months after initial release and still have not fixed their QC issues....).

This box set is the most amazing release since the actual release of the Beatles albums. The remastering is pristine and such a convenient set of all the Beatles albums in one nice box! All the bad reviews here are of Amazon not shipping them on time lol.If you don't have any Beatles get this set for years of enjoyment as the Beatles music is timeless!
