The first Saw game was far from perfect, but enjoyable. I can't say the same for Saw 2. I would have been able to overlook the new and not improved combat system if it wasn't for the very badly located checkpoints.
There are a lot of ways you can die in this game because of the enemies, the quicktime events and the countless traps. Thus, it's very frustrating to constantly have to restart some portions of the game because the last checkpoint was like ten minutes ago. When you think about it, the people who had enough patience to finish this game one time actually played it at least three times.
Anyway, for me this is unacceptable because unlike movies, video game sequels are suppose to get better, not worst.

This game is a good game for sure, and for those of you who liked the first game will find this one good as well, though a bit more frustrating in spots. Combat techniques are a bit rough for sure, and well, certain freedoms you had with the first are not in this one(aka, flashlight throughout the game and constant weaponry), but overall, a 4 for fun because once you become accustomed to the controls and how it works, its a great time, but a 3.5 overall because they should have taken their time instead of rushing it out to joe public. It lacks in vigorous imagination...But it doies excel in intensity as well. I do hope part three(yes, there will be a third installment) comes fully packed with all that was missing from both these first games, but thats then, this is now...rent it first, give it a fair shot and see if you like it or not, because its not for everyone of course. Also keep in mind that this is a SAW game, not a huge RPG game, so have an open mind going into it, and that will help...So again, good game, done too quickly, but hardly a horrible game to give a try to...popcorn and jigsaw in the palm of your hands--what more do you need?...lol..

It might not be the game that everyone like, but Saw 2 can be really fun for those who like survival horror and Saw movie. The game had the movie feeling, the music and a twist at the end
like every other Saw. October 2011 will be the first time since the beginning of the franchise without a Saw movie in theater. Playing Saw 1 or Saw 2 could give you some fun.
