I don't expect much from DreamWorks animation because the only good films they've made I can count on one hand without using the thumb: "Megamind" and "How to Train Your Dragon" are excellent; "Road to El Dorado" is very good; and "Monsters vs. Aliens" is fairly entertaining for $5. Saving of this otherwise unremarkable film are amusing portrayals by Stephen Colbert, Paul Rudd, Hugh Laurie, and Rainn Wilson. It's an okay homage to 1950s sci-fi B-movies but for a much better one I'd recommend "The Iron Giant."

this movie doesn't quite live up to the hype for me.that not to so it
was a bad movie, because it wasn' was entertaining, fairly fast was over before i knew it.maybe that was the big
problem.nothing much really happened in the less than 90 minutes
running time.the characters were interesting.the problem is,they were
never explored beyond the quick superficial minute or two(if that)
explanation of how they came to be.basically, the movie is all
potatoes,no certainly isn't funny.if it is,i must have missed
the memo about the funny parts.the concept is good, they just didn't do
enough with it.despite it's problems,i did find it entertaining enough
to give it a 3/5
