This review is from: Personal Training With Jackie: Power Circuit Training (DVD)
i've done a lot of circuit training dvds and i have to say this is one of my favorites... the moves are relatively easy, although if you use heavier weights it can get pretty difficult.. i use 8 lbs and have noticed immediate changes in my shoulders, hamstrings and abs (primarily).. the dvd description is somewhat inaccurate, it isn't 4 sets of 15 mins training + a 40 minute, the 40 minute is simply all of the 15 min circuits minus the warm upsi usually do the 40 minutes in the morning, and it is very easy to go through. i would recommend this to anyone who wants to tone and build muscle mass in addition to what they already do for cardio jackie isn't annoying to listen to, and she gives adequate instruction, telling you how to modify or what NOT to do, so it's fairly easy to understand each move almost immediately the thing that i most enjoy about this dvd is that the results are almost immediate, it's incredibly easy to understand and do, and the 40 minutes pass by in a flash

First off, I like Jackie Warners DVDs in general more than Jillian Michaels (Jillian's tend to be harder on my joints/knees, since she's a big fan of jumping jacks and jumping rope). Here's my review of Power Circuit Training: PROS: -This DVD consists of 15 min upper body, 15 min lower body, 15 min abs/core -OR you can 15 min total body workout (this seems appealing, but honestly you need to do more than just 15 min a day from a DVD to really get in shape and see good results) -OR 40 min which is all the 15 minute upper/lower/abs combined (it flies by pretty quickly so this is still good if you are short on time) -lots of strength training moves (upper body movements with weights, squats/lunges, pretty good ab workout) -a decent workout for beginners, I was sweating and a bit sore the next day -pretty good on your joints so if you have these issues; there's not really much jumping around CONS: -not much of a warm up/cool down time but you can do that on your own -Jackie moves a bit too quickly so you have to watch for a moment to get the right form; I also don't think it's good to go that fast, it's better to go slower and more controlled when working with weights so you really feel the burn -almost NO cardio in the workouts! if you are looking for a complete workout (cardio and weights), look elsewhere (i.e. her One on One training DVD) -might not be enough for those who are more experienced, I didn't feel as if I got as "full" a workout as other DVDs -YOU WILL NEED: -dumbells, she recommends lighter and heavier ones, you should be using enough weight to feel a burn (I'm 5 ft, 115 pounds, I was using 5 pound weights, I'm pretty weak) -a gym/yoga mat or at least a carpeted area I also have Jackie Warners "One-on-One Training", which is similar to this DVD (that one has 20 min upper/lower/core, 60 min total), yet I like that one more since it contains cardio in between all the strength training. I recommend that one if you are looking for a more "complete" workout. Overall this is a pretty decent workout - I really like Jackie's voice and look, she's not annoying to listen to or watch. It's a great starter DVD for beginners or to add to your workout collection already. However, if I ONLY had this DVD for workouts I would need to personally supplement it with daily jogging or walking. Her One-On-One Training DVD has more exercises in it (it's a slightly longer DVD), so if you're going to spend 13 bucks you might as well get one that has more moves in it.

I was a little nervous to buy this dvd because I thought it would just be more of Jackie trying to market her sky sport and spa but it really is a great circut dvd! The warm up and strech are lacking but really those are things you can do on your own and don't really need any direction. The 40 minutes Flew by!! The ab moves were different and so I wasn't sure if I liked them at first but I definatley felt them the next day!! All and all I would say this is a great workout dvd and I would reccomend adding it to your collection :)

Great for beginer. I'm lazy and will use any excuse to quit. This is just enough to keep me motivated. And you will see results after the first week.

This workout is excellent when you want to quickly workout all your major muscles. As one of the previous reviews points out, there is 40 minute circuit and then four 15 minutes circuits to choose from. The shorter circuits are just different cuts of the main 40 minute workout depending on which muscle you want to focus on.What I appreciated the most from this video is that the exercises are constantly changing so your body and mind never get bored with the same movements. The first time I did this video I could not believe I was already done the 40 minute circuit. The only criticism I have for this video is that the stretching segment could have been longer. Stretching is an important part of toning. I would have expected more stretching to keep the muscles long and lean after the exercise (as opposed to that tight, contracted feeling). Nonetheless, I simply do additional stretching exercises after I am done the workout. Enjoy!

Loved this DVD! I definitely felt the results the day after these workouts! I do the 15min workouts when I don't have much time, otherwise I do 2 15min ones. I find some trainers to be annoying and need to mute them--but Jackie is great. No muting needed! After I tried this DVD, I purchased 2 more of Jackie's workout DVDs.

I have bought other DVDs to workout before, this by far is the most intense, you are really working for your money here. I have found muscles I didn't know exist, and I only know where they are because they hurt! Very pushy, very enjoyable, very full feeling. Every time I am going to do the workout, I always say 'There we go ... With my crazy new pal', she really pushes you ... And I am just looking forward 1/3 of her body built ... I would recommend this DVD to anyone that wants to do a serious workout

I must say I am VERY impressed with this DVD, it's a great total body work out.I always do the 45 minute full body option and I tell you the time flys. Throughout the 45 minutes she focuses on working one muscle group at a time, you do 3 exercises for that body part and then repeat all three for a quick burn..then you move on. I used to have a personal trainer and I think this DVD is the next best thing. I use three different sets of weights based on the body part 5's, 8's and sometimes 10's and i plan on increasing the weights with time. I highly recoment this DVD for advanced exercisers and beginners.

I am very happy with this purchase. You can do the 40min total body circuit or if you are pressed for time just choose a 15 min workout. The circuit is very effective and it goes so fast. You aren't clock watching when you do this workout. I'm impressed with the results even only using it for a few short weeks. Great purchase.

This is a good workout. You need strong abs for the ab workout so I rated this more for the intermediate than beginner. The workouts do have a simpler version but even so if you are just getting back to working out some of those moves involving the "core" muscles (which are the first to go when you stop exercising)are very difficult or next to impossible. However, once you have developed your core using other DVD's this workout would be a good compliment to an aerobic DVD.
