If you own a netbook using Streets and Trips as a relacement for a GPS is an alternative. Microsoft has done only a fair job with S and T. It is not easy to use particularly when driving along. Please stop the car before playing with it. Shortcomings:
Does not remember favourites.
It does not assume that you are on a road so frequently says "off route"
It does not change scale as you get close to a turn.
It does allow you to plan trips and stops on the computer first.
You can use your netbook for other purposes too.
It is cheaper than a GPS

This product was easy to install and seems to work as suggested. Unfortunately, one of the first screens that came up was that I can pay another 25 dollars and get the latest issue. I had thought I had bought the latest issue. So I am disappointed. Had I seen I could buy a newer model, I would have purchased it in the first place.

This is very usefull when traveling anywere close or fare away. If you want to change your route, it will guide you back when needed.
