So fun ... loved watching it again! The new movie came out and I wanted to be able to watch the original once again.

Wound up seeing this movie in the theatres because it was the only comedy showing at the time and I felt like a laugh. I usually am not into this type of 'toilet' humour but I have to tell you it was surprisingly funny. We were quoting parts of the movie on the way home (something else I usually don't do.) Went again with another friend a couple weeks later and laughed even harder - although I'm sure the fact that my friend was literally doubled up laughing on the floor added to comedy factor. If you just want a couple hours of laughs and mindless entertainment then this is the movie for you!

A Surprisingly Funny Hangover,

Tood Philips ("Old School") is known for his lowbrow humour. Yes, The Hangover is lowbrow, but it is a whole new type of lowbrow. When it came out in the summer of '09 it surprised a lot of people since previous summers had been dominated by Apatow, Rogen et. al. and this movie just came out of nowhere. Bradley Cooper was the only star I'd heard of, and I just hated him in Wedding Crashers. (You were supposed to hate him, but I didn't want to see him in a lead role.)The Hangover might be seen as a funnier update of "Dude, Where's My Car". The same basic framework applies with some changes. Three guys now, instead of two, must retrace their steps after one wild night. Doug's about to get married in two days. Problem: Doug is missing. Doug must be found. Best men Phil (Cooper), Stu the dentist (Ed Helms) and the creepy but sweet Alan (Zach Galifianakis, a guy I've never heard of before) have some clues and a deadline. The wedding looms. As much as Cooper is the star of this movie, is it Zach Galifianakis who steals the show. He gets all the best lines, and he is the victim of the most punishment as the quest goes on. There are a couple notable cameos: Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development) is "the dad" (does he always play dads now?) and Ken Jeong (Knocked Up, Role Models) is...I'd better not say what he is. Heck I don't even know what he is and I've seen the movie three times now. And then there's Mike Tyson, singing a Phil Collins song. And air-drumming. Special features on the 2-disc edition are worthwhile. Ken Jeong's improvised stuff is pretty good, but the real corker are the 100 photos from the "lost camera". These 100 photos alone are worth buying the 2-disc version. That edition also comes with a digital copy (for those who care, I'm not one of them). Order this movie if you like to laugh at people getting tasered in the face. And remember the name Zach Galifianakis. I guarantee you will be seeing him again.

The movie is great (of course). The disc comes with enough extra content that makes it worth buying. The picture quality and sound are good.

Good quality!,
This review is from: The Hangover / L'Endemain de Veille (Bilingual) (Widescreen) (DVD)
The movie was great quality! The only thing I noticed was that there was at least one scene that was in the original that was not present in this movie. It wasn't a major part of the movie, but I guess it would have been nice if this version was exactly like the original. Other than that, I really liked the quality of the movie and I really enjoyed watching it again :)

This was huge sleeper hit but boy does it start off super slow. The first 20 minutes i did not laugh once and wondered what all the fuss was about. The movie was, frankly, plain boring but once we find the guys waking up in their suite the night after, then it starts to rock. There are plenty of great twists even to what you think is a linear plot. Throw in a gratuitous expose breast of Heather Graham, gratuitous Mike Tyson, a tiger, a baby, a missing tooth and stolen police car, and you have a movie. It does fall into that typical Hollywood movie stereotypes. You get the stripper with a heart of gold, the bitchy live-in girlfriend, a Rain Man-like winning streak at the tables and plenty of car crashes. With better film editing this thing could have been off the charts funny. As it is it's a good laugh but nothing like Doug Liman's Go in its ability to capture Vegas today (and even that movie was smart in using Vegas for only a third of its movie). Lastly, there are zero extras on this DVD release. All you get is the wide- and full-screen versions of the movie.

I was a little worried at first because it says that the Digital copy is not longer available after December 2010 but it worked for me and today is March 22, 2011 so that was a nice bonus. This includes the theatre released version as well as the unrated version so there is a good collection. The movie itself is a very funny "dumb" comedy. Surprised me that it was as good as it was so I am looking forward to The Hangover 2.

Attention to potential purchasers:The Digital Copy has an Expiration Date for Download of December 15, 2010. Since I ordered this January 6th 2011 myself, I cannot make use of this feature and neither will anyone else buying it now.
