The Keurig frother heats and whisks about 1/4 of a cup of milk (skim is recommended, but soy works perfectly too) in a teflon-lined chamber. You get about a cup of warm foam and a small amount of milk at the bottom. If you hold back the foam with a non-scratch spoon, pour the milk into a half-cup of coffee or tea, then spoon the foam on top, you get a perfect latte. There...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not durable, and its expensive
Sure it works. But it is a 100 dollar appliance just to heat and froth milk for one serving. You then have to clean the device carefully. Mild scum sticks to the bottom of the appliance, despite its non stick surface; and both the container and the lid of the frother contain electrical components which are not sealed from water. If water get into the heating element or the moter it can short out the machine.

A microwave to heat the milk and one of those 10 dollar battery operated mini wisks will do just as good a job, and is just as easy to use; and actually easier to clean up.

I do not recommend this appliance unless you have money to burn (pun intended).

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so great....., Nov 17 2010
This review is from: Keurig One Touch Milk Frother KU5074 (Kitchen)
I bought this product as I needed a cleaner way to steam milk for my lattes. Unfortunately, the temperature this devices reaches when steaming milk is QUITE mild (not hot enough).

There are max and min markings in the steamer, so you always start with the right amount of milk. There is a second max marking if you want more warm milk with less foam. The foamer base has an electrical cord, but the foamer is cordless. Clean-up is quick and easy. Take off the lid and angle it under a stream of warm water to clean both lid and whisk while keeping the eleictical parts dry. Do the same with the steamer. Wipe both dry. If you are making several lattes, you need to rinse the steamer (but not the whisk) each time, or the milk starts to form a skin at the bottom of the frothing compartment. I have had the steamer for just over a month. I love it and use it daily. For variety, I have even enjoyed foamed milk on breakfast cereal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Product, Feb 11 2011
This review is from: Keurig One Touch Milk Frother KU5074 (Kitchen)
The Keurig Frother is a great product. It is well made and silent when operating. I had lattes made by the Tassimo coffee maker which were not bad but they are made with a faux milk and sugar liquid which turned me off. I like the fact that you can use 2% real milk. You do not have to add anything to your cappuccino except for milk. The item is also easy to clean. It could hold a little more (do not go over the max, in fact I keep it below a bit or it will over flow) but for my wife and I it works out fine. You could actually make four caps.

3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome froth, Feb 22 2010

The frother is incredible. In less than 90 seconds you have a rich froth you can eat with a spoon. However, for latté lovers like me, the milk is not warm enough and you can only put about 4 ounces of milk in the frother. So if you like big lattés, you need to take a second cup. Is this worth 100$, I don't think so but I still love the machine. It is far the best frother I ever had but nothing is perfect.

This expensive little gizmo is a real treat. I was hesitant to buy it due to the almost $100 price tag but after reading about it on other sites and seeing how much everyone raved about it, I took the plunge. It's lovely. Great froth or you can simply use it to warm up milk for your coffee. I have used fat free skim in it as well as fat free evaporated milk (the latter is my favourite, as warming it up makes it seem sweet to me). No regrets with this purchase!

So quick and easy. I love the results. I normally use a lot of cream in coffee and with this frothier I can use skim milk and have a wonderful latte.

1.0 out of 5 stars junk, Mar 29 2013

I received this frother as a gift for my birthday and it worked wonderfully up until last week when it shorted out on me. I only had it for two weeks. The store wont take it back because my husband bought it on clearance. It was expensive. Junk.

Too expensive and it broke within a month. Better off with a $3.00 Ikea battery whisk and microwave for warming the milk.

This milk frother works very well perfectly frothing milk. Be careful to not put more milk than the prescribed level or it will overflow when steaming. Use a brush to clean the inside to get the steamed milk off of the Teflon finish. Be very careful not to expose the inside electronics to water as it will short out. Sounds picky but it makes a perfect latte every time!
