Hamilton Beach Percolator with Detachable Cord

I was happy with the performance of this perculator as far as producing a hot, full flavored cup of coffee. My only criticism is that it appears to give off a burnt smell when perculating that goes through the air and upon inspection, I noticed that the bottom of the pot is already slightly permanently burned and I don't know why. But it continues to perform and tastes a lot better than a drip coffee maker.

Over the last 50 years we've had many coffee makers, most of them drip type, two of them have bee percolators, our first one died about a year ago, we hated to see it go, we went back our drip types but longed for a percolator. We saw this great deal in Amazon and jumped on it. We have never been so satisfied with our coffee once we adjusted the water/coffee ratio to our liking, every pot is pipping hot, (unlike drip makers).
We would recommend this product to any serious coffee drinker.

Good Value. It's difficult to locate a percolator these days among all the automatic drip coffee makers and single server prepackaged coffee devices. This unit does the simple job well, easy to use, water level guide is helpful.

We were first introduced to the Percolator during a trip to Jamaica. Great little low maintenance option if you like your brew piping hot.

I have always used percolators as they make the best cup of coffee that stays warm. I did have a bad run with percs a few years ago and switched to drip for over a year - only my coffee addiction kept me drinking that coffee! Thankfully, my partner broke the carafe so I took the opportunity to go back to the perc. The Hamilton Beach is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes a nice, smooth cup of coffee. Best yet, you can spend a long Sunday morning reading the paper and the coffee is just as good on the third cup as it was on the first. I am reserving a star only because I have had this maker for just over a month, and I'm waiting to test its longevity.

Brews great tasting coffee, quickly. Water indicator level is visible from the outside, nice bonus. Great quality. Easy to clean. As good as the higher priced competitor.

I have only had this product for one month but am happy with it's performance so far. Electric percolators are hard to come by in stores now... even the Bay in my city doesn't carry them for some reason. This product is priced appropriately, and the free shipping was quite prompt. The water level on the side lags a bit, as it is a separate water column from the carafe itself... but is accurate as far as I can tell. The glass top is way too hot to touch if you're like me and like to remove the metal basket before pouring the first cup (to prevent grounds from getting into the coffee). The cord was too short to keep plugged in while pouring a cup, so I replaced it with a longer one. The only other thing I noticed was a burnt smell when you only fill to the minimum 4 cup line. Other than that it's not a difficult product to use or adapt to. I wouldn't get it again because I would like to try another product next time, but I would recommend it if it's in your price range.

The only thing I would do if I was the fabricator, I would expan the lid opening. You have to be carefull when your putting coffee in the basket because it is a little small. I have fairly large hand and when time come to wash the inside I say they should have made the opening wider. Beside my comment, the unit is fabulous!

Les percolateurs sont devenus si rare...celui-ci est efficace, rapide et abordable. Il fait un café qui pourrait être un peu plus chaud, et n'a pas de réglage doux, moyen ou fort. Il fait toutefois un bien meilleur cafe qu'une cafetière filtre...

Perk coffee is the best. I's too bad this is an appliance that few people ever use.
