this film and the previous OSS 117 are FANTASTIC; sort of the French James Bond. Costumes and decor truly remeniscent of the 60's movies. The gags are great, he's not too clever, and he sometimes gets the girl. Higly refreshing as movies go, very much recommended for those who understand French. Subtitles loose some of the meanings and the intents of jokes.

you will like this as well: it is really hard to describe the unique styleof this movie: you are watching the old movie knowing that it's done in present and that's exactly what make some of the jokes to work perfectly. Very light comedy which will be better understood by adults. Even though there is nothing harsh in it, I cannot recommend it for kids. And that is another unique feature of the movie actually. And of cause this movie cannot be that perfect withouth Jean Dujardin.

The item was exactly as described, arrived fast and without any problem.
Description on the extra features could have been more exhaustive though, but still, evereything was in the DVDs!
Thanks!

Great price and love this movie, but a 1:85 blu ray transfer of a 2:35 film is ridiculous. What year is this? Since ordered the French disc.

Man! Jean Du Jardin is awesome! If you like James Bond, you'll enjoy this! It is a great parody of it.

TOP 500 REVIEWERon August 11, 2011
I wanted to see this movie based on a trailer I saw thinking it looked like some crazy spy spoof a la Austin Powers meets James Bond via Matt Helm. It tries to be but falls very flat. Maybe I just don't get French humor (then again they love the totally unfunny Jerry Lewis) but most of the jokes either went over my head (the intro where Agent OSS 117 calls everyone by name as he enters HQ has to be some sort of play on names that escapes me with the direct English translations in the subtitles) or were juts plain cirnge-inducing not funny.

There is one scene in a car where the hot Israeli Mossad agent babe basically rips OSS 117 a new one over his misogynist and racist comments. It rings more true than humorous.

The look of the movie works well as it is stylishly like you're transported into the Brazil of the 1960s. The split and multiple image screens are also way cool. Basically, the pic is let down by the terrible script and the lack of comic timing.

After all this movie has exotic locations, wild architecture, Nazis, masked wrestlers, Chinese hit men, Mossad agents and hot babes in states of undress so...why did it not work?

The extras are all in French with no subtitles by the way at least on the copy I had.
