I'm not going to do Marina and the Diamonds the disservice of comparing her voice to anyone else. Start to finish, this album is original, dramatic, and just plain incredible! It doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before. This CD is so peppered with brilliant highlights, it's impossible to pick one track as a standout.Imagine if we could finally get a pop queen that was intelligent, talented, original, not 16-years old, not a waif, not a raging alcoholic, not about T&A dance moves, and not a commercial product of "American Idol" or "Got Talent"? Now, that would be something! You go, Marina! I'm rooting for ya.

I am amazed to see there are no raves for Marina yet on this site, so I feel honour-bound to get the ball rolling. The "Album Description" here puts it very well: she is absolutely delicious & has a personality that comes across in spades. You feel that you would just love to know this girl! Pop tunes that are lively and energetic and invigorating, even through the last three tracks where things turn a little darker. Do yourself a favour and check out the video for Shampain. She deserves to be as big a star as she wants to be. Highest recommendation.
