A remarkable tender and personal collection of tunes from the talented Sean from Great Big Sea. Like the other reviewer here, I too am writing from the the US in Pennsylvania where GBS has visited a few times and I also saw them in Washington, DC a few years ago. More to this disc, these songs at first listen sound too spare and almost forlorn, but deeper listening reveals a strong yet compassionate lyrical structure with his gravelly intonation always bringing emotion to the songs. I notice in concert that the women ooh and aah when Sean is center stage (my daughter pegs him as the cute one), but the songs do carry a heavy romanticism. In an age of American "Idle" idiocy and karaoke, art like this disc goes unheralded. Sad. Buy It! Now!
