One of the most intelligently written post-apocalyptic shows I have ever watched. Explores issues in-depth and at length that other similar TV shows gloss-over such as social problems, technological hurdles to survival, agricultural issues. Shows like the recent "Revolution" may have much higher budgets and better effects, but in comparison they are a shallow pool.

I really enjoyed this series. You need to be able to get over the 1970s production values - unless like me you love the look and feel of 1970s BBC stuff - for instance, it's all shot on video and there's no background music. There isn't an "explosion of the week" or killer zombies (not that zombies are bad), and the show's pacing is not tailored for today's Attention Deficit Disorder audiences. Instead, it's a very in-depth, realistic depiction of how real people (not Hollywood's version of "real people") would behave an cope in a world without modern civilization or technology.

Having watched the remake done recently, this original version set in 1975, seems almost surreal. Everything they have at their disposal is current and up to date, yet compared with what we have know, it is nothing. Great series though.

The quality of the dvd is very good!

The dvd itself is very good. The show is like soap opera around people tryig to survive a plague. The plot shifts periodically from the main characters which is good for the show.

I would recommend this show for people who sci-fi shows!!
