In these days of image loading movies, those simple realistic film are quite uplifting. You can actually believe everthing shown to you on screen. Of course, modern viewers will think this flick is lacking megafast action and multiple angle camera work, but this is the way it was done back then.
All the Robin hood ingredient are in there. Outlwas, Chivalry, Sinful rulers, damsel in distress, heroic featsm the wuole 9 yards. The Bow and Arrow contest is a delight to watch and sets the tone just a bit above true reality. As a bonus, Peter Cushing delivers a memorable Sheriff of Notthingham. Lady Marianne is the center piece of this one. She casts a shadow over Robin. This is a simple medieval story that is not meant to challenge Lord of the Rings, but it will keep interrested for 80 minutes. No holes in the scenario, no wasted time... just plain fun.
On the minus side, I would have like the text to be more poetic. No Shakespeare here... Also, extras are very very thin.
in short, a small price tag on a short movie that is pleasant to warch.
