FEAR WITH A TWIST
on June 26, 2011
This is a typical Fear game with creepy atmosphere and music and Alma appearing but vanishing once you get close. It has the usual slow-mo action shooting where you can slow down time and take out like three guys at the same time, I haven't gotten bored with that gimmick yet. And the story is decent, the other two previous games finally make sense to me. The story is about two brothers and their twisted upbringing.
But the twist is you can play as the evil second brother Fettel, once you have played the game as the regular slow-mo character the Point Man. And Fettel can't carry guns, but he can possess soldiers for periods of time and use their guns, and it is crazy fun. Instead of using cover and taking out one guy at a time like the Point Man you can jump into a group of soldiers, possess one of them and use him to take out the rest of the guys. And if he dies you don't die you just have to look for cover quick, until you build up enough energy to jump again. It completely changes the game and made the second play through more fun than the first. Also, when Fettel takes possession of somebody he always gives an evil little laugh, it is amusing.
I understand that that the co-op with the brothers is very good, but I doubt that I will play it. And I wouldn't pay $70 for this game, but I would play it when it is a deal.
