If you already haven't bought this DVD you MUST buy it now!The DVD extras(features) are amazing, and what's better than having glee marathon's for a whole week, right? The storylines in this season was amazing. The whole Santana thing (which I am looking forward to season 3, premiering Tuesday, September 20, 2011 US). There were also amazing guest stars that we all loved, some examples are John Stamos and Gwenyth Paltrow. The songs. Do not get me started with the songs! For example, the mash-up with West Side Story and TLC. That turned out beautifully. Then there are the Original Songs, which is basically a gleek anthem! There's Loser Like Me, Get it Right, Light Up The World, Trouty Mouth, My cup. I mean .. if you already haven't listened to them .. 1) As if and 2) Kill yourself. I really suggest you buying this DVD if you're a gleek like myself! :) I see it as a collector's item really. 10 years from now, I'm going to watch all the glee seasons and cry because of how I miss it so much !

Of course if you like the TV series then you will appreciate watching and listening to the music of Glee. Great season to watch. Our family has watched it twice and will see it again and again.

My favorite season so far,

I'll be honest, I was not a great fan of Season 1. I loved Season 2 a lot more. Two main reasons: First, the storylines. The show was more centralized around a specific theme rather than all over the place. The entire season focuses on bullying and sexual orientation. The season was realistic. The issues dealt in the show are dealt by teenagers. There were no cheesy happy endings. People got hurt and they didn't always get what they want. Also, there were much greater character developments. (I won't go into details for the characters development because I don't want to include spoilers, but I particularly liked Quinn's stories) Gwyneth Paltrow guest-stars a few episodes as Holly Holiday, a substitute teacher. I'm not a fan of Ms. Paltrow. Yet, I couldn't help but like her as Ms. Holiday. Second, the songs. There were not as many show-tunes and I enjoyed that. Yes, Glee Clubs are about show-tunes. However, I like the show more when they cover songs that are well-known or pop culture references. For example, the Rocky Horror Picture Show episode was really cool. A few show-tunes is fine every once in a while, just not every single episode. The idea of presenting original songs was interesting (especially considering I have a few friends who criticised Glee for lack of original songs), but they weren't particularly mind-blowing. They were average pop songs. If I were to do my tops and not-so-tops: - Best cover of the year: '"I feel pretty/unpretty"' with Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Rachel (Lea Michele). It made perfect sense with Quinn's storyline. - Worst cover of the year: "'Rolling in the deep'" with Jessie (Jonathan Groff) and Rachel (Lea Michele). My ears were bleeding. - Best original song: "'Trouty mouth"' with Santana (Naya Rivera). Most people might prefer '"Loser like me"' but this was just so hilarious because Santana is so into it (watch the video). - Funniest line of the season: Jessie to Finn '"You sing and dance like a zombie who has to poop'". If you watch the show regularly, you know it is somewhat true. - Best episodes (because I can't choose one): Grilled Ghesus, Never Been Kissed, Born This Way - Least favourite episodes: Audition, Rumours, A Night to Neglect - Favourite characters: Sue, Santana (Naya Rivera), Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Burt (Mike O'Malley) - Least favourite characters: Figgins (Iqbal Theba), Sandy (Stephen Tobolowsky) and Sunshine (Charice, whose presence on the show was beyond random) - Who should sing more next season: Santana (Naya Rivera) In short, if you felt a little bored with Season 1, like I was, maybe you''ll enjoy Season 2.
