Wonderful versatile machine, can read anything from any source, be it music or video.

Portable, very pratical, operates on 12V, which is practical when we go camping with the boat or trailer.

I like to listen to movies when I work outside; it's very handy for that purpose.

There is no cover on the screen. You have to be careful not to scratch it when packing.

I'm gonna buy another one for the cottage!

I bought the Magnasonic MDVD500 to replace my trusted old Panasonic CD player which started playing only some CDs and not others. I am not unhappy with the purchase, but not thrilled, either. My old CD player had a remote (which I liked because I listen to stuff in bed) which would increase/decrease the volume or turn the CD player on or off. The remote that comes with the Magnasonic does neither! You have to go over to the boombox and do it manually. Also, the buttons on the remote are so small (for those of us who are aging!) that it is a chore to find the one you need. Another "down" side for me is that when you are listening to a CD, the DVD screen still lights up. It is very distracting to see this 7 inch square of light glaring at you constantly. All that being said, the sound quality is very good on the player, and a DVD function added to the rest of the functions makes its portability quite valuable. I'd say this product is great for vacationing, but for home use...well, I just wish I'd spent the money on fixing my old CD player instead.

Bought this for our grandson and he loves it! Built well and the picture quality is very good as is the sound.
Thinking about getting one for ourselves.

Great value for the money! Large video screen, great sound, loud volume! USB works well..will play 8 GB stick. It loads a limited number of files at one time though(if you are playing a lot of small video files like music videos). I'm unsure of how many mp3s load at once.
My 32 GB stick seemed to be too much for it, but the 8GB was ok.
I haven't tried the card reader yet, but the manual claims that it will read a 32GB card.

This item was a gift . So far so good . Recipeant has used it to play movies and cd's . He's looking forward to takeing it camping this summer . I tested it before wrapping and all functions seemed to work well .

This product gets a lot of use at our house. It is a space saver because she can listen to her music or watch a movie on the same machine-it only takes up one spot on her desk as opposed to having 2 seperate devices. She uses it all the time. It was priced very well, was as seller indicated, and even arrived earlier than I expected. Thank-you.

I ordered this for my daughter's birthday, and I think that she may come to like it, but we have had some trouble trying to get it to recognize her MP3. Obviously we are missing some insight or information as to how to go about "introducing" the boombox to the MP3, but as of yet any connection has been unsuccessful. Help!
The DVD compatability is a bonus, but more so than that, using it as a digital picture frame is a novel feature.

I bought this product as a Christmas gift for my husband. We are absolutely delighted with it. We are getting radio stations that we previously couldn't get, we have watched DVDs in the kitchen while getting supper ready and the quality of the sound of the CDS that we have played is excellent. The size makes it perfect for the kitchen counter taking up very little space. My husband is already talking about taking this on his fishing trip next year. I guess I may have to buy another one.

I can't complain for the price and the level of product. Here are the pro's and con's:

Pro's: great sound, loud enough to power a conference room with 50 guests. DVD quality is great. REmote is convenient.

Con's: USB, SD inputs TOO slow. All all formats are read. Use the slots for emergency only. You're better off to use a netbook/small lap top.

This was a great hit for DVD watching and music listening, but I was disappointed that the karaoke aspect didn't work.
The adaptor that was included was loose and wouldn't stay in. And the microphone, that I bought through shoptronics, didn't work either :(
But it is a great portable DVD/CD player!
