5.0 out of 5 stars Best sitcom available on DVD!
I don't watch TV a lot unless it's really good, funny and entertaining. Friends has all these qualities and more. I am so glad they came up with all the seasons on DVD so that I can sit and watch them whenever I please.

This is by far the best sitcom ever created, plus they're not expensive to buy compared to other box sets. You will get hours of laughs...

3.0 out of 5 stars What happened to the outakes?!?
I love Friends, it's my favorite show. So when I missed the original airing of the Outtakes episode hosted by Conan O'Brien, I was so upset. My only solace was that I knew I could just see it when it finally comes out on DVD. So Region 2 (UK) gets Season 5 a few months ago... and they get the outtakes. Region 1 (the US and Canada) gets Season 5... and there's no...

Don't hesitate to buy this season or any of the seasons for that matter. You will not regret your decision, I know I didn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Season five, Jun 20 2004
I think this is the best season. So much went on... Joey finding out about Chandler and Monica because of the hotel in Atlantic City calling Joey about the eyelash curler left in the hotel room and then Monica asks Rachel for one.

One of the funniest moments was:
'Atleast I got to see Donald Trump waiting by an elevator'
'Oh yeah at the Taj Mehal he has his own private elevator, a glass elevator, made by Otis Elevators, and they usually don't do glass'
'What kinds of things do you KNOW?'

anyway, its great to pull out on a rainy weekend

Ok, all the seasons are pretty good, with a lot of hit and miss shows...but this season was the best ever. Every show is hilarious. This is the best way to spend a rainy weekend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friends' Peak, April 23 2004

Probably, the greatest Friends' season. The first episodes, just when they get back from England, are Gloriously Hilarious. Chandler and Monica hiding their relationship from the rest is truly one of the best moments in all the friends series.

Also, there aren't any excerpts from other seasons, which is great too. There is one new "flashback" which is OK too.

I've read that watching "Friends" helps reducing stress. I Agree!! This series and especially this season is amazing.

Get it... with the rest....

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite, April 19 2004
This season has, what I feel, is the best episode of Friends, ever. The One In Vegas is fabulous. All of the characters have something going on, and all of their situations come together in hilairious form. This is the first complete season that I purchased, specifically because it contained this episode. The is definitely the one must-have season.

"Friends" Season 5 is one of the best, if not the best, Friends seasons! It's filled with laughs, tears, and best of all a budding relationship! This season is a MUST for dire-heart Chandler and Monica fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Friends at its peak, Mar 27 2004
By A Customer
This is the first Friends season I've bought, and was very impressed. Some might wonder why I didn't begin with season one, but here's why. For fans of the show who are just beginning their collection, start with the best the show has to offer. And that's season five. On the other hand, for viewers who aren't too fimiliar with the show yet want to get into it, it only makes sense to start with the first season.

Season five contains possibly the best episode throughout the course of the series, "The One With All The Thanksgiving," where everyone relives Thanksgiving day horror stories from their past. Other notable events from this season are the fallout from Ross' and Emily's botched wedding, Phoebe's birth to her brother's triplets, and the evolution of the Chandler-Monica angle.

The four-disc DVD, obviously including all seaosn five shows, is very well-done. The audio/video transfer, which some people have questioned, is fine. I don't see how people could complain about its quality.

The menu's are easy to navigate, and snazzy at that. Next to each episode title, there's a coffee cup. If you click it, you can watch a preview of the episode. It's a great way to decide which shows you want to watch and when.

The extras, while not as good as they should be, are sufficient. There's commentary show higher-ups on three shows, a 45 minute Discovery Channel documentary on what it takes to create a Friends episode, Friends on location in London, an easter egg, and Guther's preview of season six.

Friends has had good seasons before, and after, season five... but none better than season five.
