Paderno 10pc Artistry Cookware Set

This Paderno set is a wonderful package of cookware. The pots are stainless, well constructed with "rivets" rather than welds to attaching handles; this gives the pieces greater durability and quality. The handles are also silicon "sleeved" or "gloved" which is a fantastic feature since the pots are stainless steel. The silicon "sleeves" allow the pots to be used in an over and keep the handles from burning hands when removing from a burner.

This is very high quality cookware - we had been searching for high quality pots for years and watching for a sale. I would recommend these pots at retail for anyone who wants an attractive, high quality set and doesn't mind paying full price. For those who would prefer to pay less, watch for sales as high quality cookware is often discounted. This particular brand is a good purchase at pretty much any price.

The pots aren't non-stick as most high quality cookware isn't. "Fancy" recipes typically don't require non-stick cookware, but high quality. The only "nice" addition to this set would be copper bottoms that allow the pots to hear up and cool down faster for those recipes that are "touchy." Stainless steel works nearly as well, however, for those cooking with a gas range.

With the name Paderno, I was under the impression that this product was made in CANADA; however, when we received the pots and pans, we discovered, in smaller printing on the box, that this product was Made in China. My big concern was quality control so I did some investigating and was told by Paderno in Prince Edward Island that this was indeed a good product and that there were only three cookware sets that were made in Canada and all the rest were made offshore. I can only hope that these pots and pans will last as long as my first set. The were made by Westbend and also made in Canada and I had them for 48 years. I am not sure whose fault it is that the Made in China notification did not appear in the sale ad on Amazon, but I will definitely not be buying any merchandise like this again. I just hope that there are no health risks with this product. I guess we wait to find out. Impressed.....not in the least.

I have had them for almost a year, happy with them, eeven in my hard water. bit of lemon juice taks care of that

I bought two of these cookware sets for my kids who now live away from home. They loved it! I appreciate that the pans are not the 'non-stick' type, which does not usually last for a lifetime.

This cookware has all the everything I was looking for -- easy to work with,
heat free lids and handles --- heats up quickly -- best I have ever purchased in over 50 yrs of cooking!!!

We purchased this Paderno set when it was on super sale. We paid a very good price for the 10 piece set. I do not recall the exact amount but I do recall seeing an invoice for no more than about $160. We purchased this set as a gift for my mother and we were to keep the 25cm frying pan that came with it.

As a sidenote this was our first purchase from Amazon.ca that wasn't a book! So we were very happy when it came so quick! Amazon ships fast... gotta give them that!

Onto the initial unboxing. We immediately noticed the "Made in China" sticker (it was either on the bottom of the box or in the owner's manual - I don't recall which now). We were pretty disappointed to see this. We made our purchase SOLELY on the fact that Paderno is a Canadian company and nowhere on their website did we see "Made in China" anywhere. So we feel a little duped. Failure to mention this, conscious omission, whatever you want to call it is NOT an acceptable practice. I now realize that this is becoming the trend... companies will not say either way and leave it up to the consumer to do the research. Perhaps I should have called Paderno, but when a company is so proudly Canadian and gives the impression that all their products are made in Canada, you just assume that to be the case. The only place where I can get a set of cookware that is not made in China seems to be at my local Costco. I do recall seeing a set made in Germany but the pricetag was a bit steep at the time, so it was passed over. So my obvious advice to those looking for pots and pans not made in China... LOOK ELSEWHERE.

As for the actual cookware itself - it definitely feels and looks durable. The frying pan is heavy gauge and I expect it will last many years. A word of advice: Prep it well! We thought we prepped the pan well enough before use but we still had sticking issues when we cooked a chicken breast one night... so now I need to find some special non-abrasive stainless steel cleaning product to remove the nearly glued-on "remnants". And no we didn't burn the chicken... this just seems to be part of the whole "cooking with stainless steel" thing that I must admit we're not very used to (we've been cooking with Teflon all our lives and decided to switch to a healthier alternative). I've got to be honest, the frying pan from this set is sitting unused in the drawer now.

We recently purchased a two set frying pan pack from Lagsotina that claimed to be PTFE free. We did some background research on this and it appears to indeed be free from polytetrafluroethylene but is Made in China. So far I am happier with the Lagostina pan than the Padernno one. So I do recommend you check out Lagostina's offerings as well and compare.

I bought this cookware set for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. It didn't take her any time at all to take out the old and bring in the new. She says they are very sturdy without being too heavy.

I have never had such an excellent set of cookware. I decided I wanted something made in Canada rather than the Made In China products I've been using. I just don't trust Chinese products anymore. I also want to support fellow Canadians by buying Canadian. These are well made, heavy pots and pans. I have been extremely pleased with how well everything I've prepared turns out. The price offered on Amazon was also a huge selling point. Thanks Paderno and thanks Amazon for this exceptional set of cookware.

I bought this set for $149.99 and had seen it at sears for $599.99. I was desperate to get rid of my non stick pots and pans. Turns out this set is great. They clean very well and they are very heavy/ well made. My only complaint is that the lids are all metal as well. I wish they were part glass so I could look inside.
